Patrick Swayze’s rep confirmed last Wednesday that the beloved actor is suffering from pancreatic cancer, but said that reports that doctors gave him just five weeks to live were not true. He said “Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects.”
WENN is reporting that Swayze has had to drop out of his latest film Fired Up, in which he was going to play a gay cheerleading instructor. There is no confirmation or follow-up from his rep on his withdrawal from the film.

We really hope this is not true but the National Enquirer is reporting that Patrick Swayze has cancer and perhaps only five weeks to live. Supposedly Swayze, 55, was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer and it has spread to other organs. The Enquirer promises full details of course in their print edition tomorrow.

Patrick Swayze could be set for a return to the big screen - as surfer movie Point Break is set to be revived in a sequel.
A follow-up to the 1991 film, which also starred Keanu Reeves, is reported to be in the pipeline - and Swayze could reprise his role, health permitting.
The sequel is due to be shot in Singapore and Indonesia, and is set 20 years after the disappearance of Swayze’s character Bodhi, reports British newspaper The Sun.

Swayze is returning to work, in a new show on the A&E network titled The Beast. The show will debut in 2009, which suggests a good long term outlook for Patrick. Filming begins this summer.

Patrick Swayze has had an "excellent" response to treatment for pancreatic cancer, the actor and his doctor said Tuesday.
"We're thrilled and grateful for the positive response Patrick has shown towards his treatment," the Dirty Dancing star and wife Lisa Niemi tell PEOPLE.
"Also, we can't help but feel that all the prayers, meditations and good thoughts sent his way by everyone has made a difference.

Patrick Swayze — who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March — made a rare public outing over the weekend at LAX airport in Los Angeles.
Asked about his health, Swayze, 55, gave photographers a thumbs-up.

Patrick Swayze is sharing his "great news" with PEOPLE: His positive response to treatment for pancreatic cancer has allowed him to live a full and busy life.
In addition to attending a Lakers game over the weekend, the Dirty Dancing star has traveled, socialized and on Monday got in birthday shopping for wife Lisa, ordering a diamond pendant from a jeweler friend in Nevada.
