Not long ago I had an apple problem. Wavering in the produce section of a Manhattan grocery store, I was unable to decide between an organic apple and a nonorganic apple (which was labeled conventional, since that sounds better than "sprayed with pesticides that might kill you"). It shouldn't have been a tough choice--who wants to eat pesticide residue?--but the organic apples had been grown in California.

Eliot Spitzer may have lost the governorship of New York following his hooker scandal, but he's been offered another gig — posing nude in Playgirl magazine.
"His sex appeal lies in being a successful businessman and politician," the mag's editor-in-chief, Nicole Caldwell, tells Usmagazine.com. "Women like a guy who is in control, and a man who knows what he wants."

Residents of Minneapolis and Seattle are the most bookish and well-read, according to results from a new survey released today of the most literate American cities.
The survey focused on 69 U.S. cities with populations of 250,000 or above.

Must haves It's the catch-phrase of the magazines, the stores, the seasons. "The new poncho is this season's must-have," "You MUST have the green croc purse," "Stock up on all of fall's must-haves!" etc etc.
