I saw this movie in theaters two weekends ago, and then again during my Best Picture nominee day yesterday.
Michael Clayton (George Clooney) is a fixer for a prestigious law firm who is sent to clean up a mess with one of it’s largest clients and longest running cases, U North. The firm’s leading attorney has recently lost his mind and has started to do rather crazy things, but Clayton starts to wonder how far gone he really is as he learns more about the case and which side he’s on.

Buzz posted the Oscar noms, which were announced this morning, but I figured I'd repost them here, for sake of conversation.
I am SO happy about some of these nods, especially:
Javier Bardem for supporting actor - TOTALLY deserves it and will probably win
Ellen Page for lead actress - she probably won't win but yay for her anyway
Juno for best picture - again, it's the underdog and probably won't win, but what an achievement
"Falling Slowly" from Once for best song - I really, really hope this wins over the songs from Enchantment.
Diablo Cody for the Juno screenplay - I think she's going to win for best original.

Michael Clayton is an Academy Award-winning dramatic legal thriller written and directed by Tony Gilroy, produced by Sydney Pollack, and starring George Clooney, Tom Wilkinson, and Tilda Swinton (who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress). It chronicles the attempts of attorney Michael Clayton to cope with a colleague's apparent mental breakdown and corruption within a major client of his law firm.
This is an excellent film.

I saw a super advance screening of this back in August, because my bf was working with one of the producers. When we went we just thought we were being nice- all we knew was that we were about to see a foreign film about a paralyzed guy. Little did I know that I would be blown away by it and it would get tons of recognition come awards season.
