I just read a review on the NY Times about Wii Fit coming out, and their reviews were mixed. I am excited to try this out.... I can be motivated in my own home, weather be damned.....

THE SENILITY PRAYER :
Grant me the senility to forget the people
I never liked anyway,
The good fortune to run into the ones I do, and
The eyesight to tell the difference.
My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Launch of Wii Fit shows Wii still going strong
Published: Tuesday, May 20, 2008
From the Press of Atlantic City:

Sumo wrestlers were the main inspiration behind Wii Fit, Nintendo's latest attempt at getting you off the couch when you play video games.
Because they are so huge, sumo wrestlers need two scales to weigh themselves. Wii Fit's balance board works kind of like two scales fused together, which, as its designers found, makes it instantly more fun than just one.

Owners of Wii game consoles from Nintendo Co. have always enjoyed the freedom its motion-sensing games offer, but the wire between the remote and the nunchuk needed for some games could limit movement.

Waiting for our aerobics class to begin, several of us were
standing around in our leotards chatting about fitness and
diets. One woman said that her brother-in-law had quit
smoking, gone on a diet and lost weight all at the same time.
Thinking to myself that no human being could possibly do this
without acquiring at least one other undesirable habit for
compensation, I jokingly asked her, "What did he start doing
instead of these things?"

Many of us are wondering some of the questions or something similar so I decided I'd post the answers (I didn't come up with these answers MsnBc did.)
Q: When I work out, I spend 20 minutes on the elliptical trainer and 15 minutes on the treadmill, and then lift on weight machines. But I cannot seem to reduce my stomach size. What should I be doing differently?

Rapper 50 Cent was told by movie execs that he needs to shed some of his muscles for his upcoming role in the movie Streets of Blood. Taking this seriously, 50 is doing aerobics as part of his training regimen to better fit the role where he will be playing a cop in the Hurricane Katrina action movie.
Joining the rapper on the big screen will be Sharon Stone and Val Kilmer.

So I am the queen of cardio/aerobics. By this statement I do not mean that I could outdo anyone in a cardio/aerobics challenge :rotfl: I just mean that is what most of my fitness regime is comprised of. I do yoga or pilates twice a week to try and build the lean muscle, but everything else is heart-pumping and sweat inducing!

Wii Fit is the latest game for the hugely popular Nintendo video console - and it is in massive demand even before it officially goes on sale. The mega brand has enlisted the help of Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding and marathon runner Nell McAndrew, who ran the London marathon is 3 hours 11 minutes. The pair, and other celebrities, were on hand to launch the new workout program.
