Okay so this is extremely random, but I was reading Sugar Bits and the part about the American Idol kids camp reminded me of something....does anybody remember American Idol Juniors? (I don't remember the specific name but it was something along those lines) It was children ages 6-13 competing to be in a 5 kid band. I wonder what the producers were on when they came up with this?

There is something about “American Idol” that extracts intense emotions from the audience: devotion for the contestants, perhaps, or passion for the songs. For Dave Della Terza, it elicits utter disgust. But it also turns a profit.

It's been awhile since I've written a music post and since we're well into this season of American Idol, I've got it on my mind and I needed to write! :-D I want to talk about the whole American Idol phenomena and what I think about it. Here's basically my thoughts in a list, plus my comments on this season's contestants!

Can your TiVo season passes predict your political leanings? Possibly. I've often heard that the Jack Bauer kick-ass-take-names-fest that is 24 ranks as one of the most conservative shows, and one whose influence extends all the way into the military itself.

It’s big news that FOX’s juggernaut “American Idol,” is suffering its lowest ratings ever. But now show producers may be looking to shake things up with the cast to get people interested again. Rumors are buzzing that the show’s execs recently conducted an impromptu online market research survey, and one place they’re looking for input for improvement is the show’s hyperactive host, Ryan Seacrest.

Brad Pitt was speechless when he walked onto the American Idol stage Sunday night — literally.
The crowd when wild when the actor took the stage at Hollywood’s Kodak Theater to tape a segment for Fox’s second annual Idol Gives Back special, making talking impossible.
The crowd jumped to their feet for the hunky superstar, whose efforts to help rebuild housing for families who lost everything in 2005’s Hurricane Katrina were recognized by show.
