Winter is right around the corner and the temperatures are definitely starting to drop where I live. My husband is thrilled and I have to admit that I like the chill in the air, if for no other reason that because it's not ridiculously hot and humid outside anymore.
But, winter means time for winter dishes made in the crockpot - and to me, that's beef stew.

I found this recipe on http://www.epicurious.com/ and thought it sounded very good! Basic Beef stew recipe with a slight twist. This isn't the stew one I wanted to post (I forgot).

Yes, I'm still on my soup/stew kick--can't help it, it's that time of year. This is a very basic beef stew recipe and there is certainly room to add your other favorite ingredients. You'll also be amazed at how easy it is to prepare.

This past weekend I decided I wanted to make a home cooked St. Paddy's Day dinner, so I pulled some Yum recipes together that had been hanging out in my favorites for a while, invited a few friends over, and busted out the crock pot.
Yum's Irish Soda Bread
Posted last year as part of the 52 Weeks of Baking, I preferred this recipe to the one posted this year which had raisins and caraway seeds in it.
