We just moved into our new house (a sprawling foreclosure), so I had free reign with this room! As you can see in the before photo, the room was dull, dingy, and needed lots of TLC.
My goal was to use black and white in a tasteful way to help the baby's visual development.

Before and After: Dining Room
Here are some before and after shots of our dining room. When we first moved in it was painted a boring shade of beige and had a brass chandelier that really wasn't our style. The first thing we did was spray paint the chandelier matte black to make it look like wrought iron.

Revamped Charity Shop Dining Table and Chairs
It was a total switch, selling away my Victorian antiques and rich accessories used in my old home in Scotland to move to Finland, and an ultra-modern, ultra-white flat flooded with light.
I decided to go from "very serious business" furniture to something that felt light, fresh and fun.
With a very tight budget in these first months after the cost of moving, I have had to be creative with what I kept and what I can afford to buy.
