******I have been home now since 10:30 yesterday morning. I am feeling VERY sore, but I have a lot of pain medication. I have a nice 'nest' set up with my cozy p.j.'s, lots of blankets and my laptop and my dressing changing materials. So, I am not sure if it is the pain medicine making me so emotional or just the whole ordeal and that it is finally over. In any case, I wanted to share some of this important information with all of you. I may not be on very much today - very sleepy. But, with the pain meds, I may be up to it. It helps to keep my mind busy. I wanted to share this information as I never thought "It could happen to me" and I believe most women think that way, and I want to show that with a positive mind and emotional support and INFORMATION you CAN get through this.

Hi everyone,
It's still Breast Cancer Awareness month and I wanted to do a look for this. We have a friend of the family who had breast cancer 15 years ago and she's thankfully still alive. I believe all the women supporting friends and/or fighting (breast)cancer should get all the support in the world.

Facebook lifted its breast photo ban on Sharon Adams, a breast cancer victim who posted pictures of her mastectomy for her friends and family only to have the pictures removed, losing the right to display them. The Daily Mail does not go into further detail as to whether other breast cancer victims and even nursing women can now post pictures revealing their breasts.
Aiding Adams in her plight and subsequent victory was an online protest which resulted in nearly 900 signatures.

Hillary Unveils Plan to Find Cure for Breast Cancer
by Lindsay Levin 4/7/2008 10:50:02 AM
Hillary Clinton appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today and announced her plan to find a cure for breast cancer within our lifetime. Hillary’s plan would provide $300 million a year in increased funding for breast cancer research at the National Institutes of Health, the National Cancer Institute, and the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.
In addition to funding research for new treatments, these investments will also go to investigate the cause of breast cancer, including the role that environmental pollutants may have, as well as, potential genetic and hereditary links.

Breast Cancer Lead: Overactive gene is linked to disease
By Patrick Barry
Researchers have discovered a new breast cancer gene that's overly active in 30 to 40 percent of women with the disease. The high percentage makes the malfunctioning of this gene, called I-kappa-B kinase epsilon (IKBKE), one of the most widespread genetic traits among breast cancer patients, says William C. Hahn, coleader of the research team at the Broad Institute in Cambridge, Mass.
