Punk legend Henry Rollins revealed in an interview that Britney Spears isn’t the only one singing on those repetitive video game soundtracks she’s been releasing lately. Rollins says that it’s an “older R&B woman” mixed in with Britney’s voice because Britney “just has no feel.”
“They have the black chick come in and sing, and Britney sings over it, and they mix them together,” said Rollins, who has his own talk show on IFC. (Britney) gets her phrasing basically from this older R&B woman.

Finally, a good week for Britney Spears? Just as we were getting to think that a lunar eclipse might come sooner, here’s some tentative cause for celebration.
In the space of 24 hours, the woman who yields roughly 82,000 results if you Google her name along with the phrase “troubled singer”, has been granted temporary visitation rights to her children and seen her new single Gimme More leap into the British chart's top three.

LOS ANGELES - On her new CD, "Blackout," Britney Spears acknowledges that 2007 hasn't been a charmed year. "I'm Mrs. Bad Media Karma, another day another drama," the 25-year-old pop princess croons to a thumping dance groove on the song "Piece of Me."
"Another day, another debacle" might have been a more apropos lyric.

The Sun has seen an extended segment of the Britney Spears documentary that is set to air on MTV on November 30th, just in time for the release of her new CD, Circus. In the clip, they say that Britney cries and talks about how difficult she finds her day to day life. It sounds more like she’s discussing her mental state than anything external.

This weekend’s Times magazine features a fashion layout with Leighton Meester, the former child model turned actress who is best known for playing the spoiled Upper East Side princess Blair Waldorf on “Gossip Girl.” I caught up for breakfast with the 23-year-old Meester, who showed up wearing a mannish Ruth Reichl-meets-Annie Hall disguise, including a hat and respectable spectacles.
I had lunch with Jason Wu recently, who told me you were his date to an event. This is how rumors start.

Contrary to most others in the American workplace this year, Britney Spears's father, Jamie Spears, just got a salary increase: to about $75 an hour.
On Monday, a Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner boosted by an additional $51,000 the elder Spears's payment for acting as his daughter's conservator, the Associated Press reports.
Since February, Jamie, 56, has been looking after Britney, 27, to the tune of $10,000 a month.

She may no longer dance with flair, lip-sync on cue, keep her dress down, or even be judged a suitable mom, but Britney Spears can still turn up on some slammin' new songs.
The much-whispered-about, oft-giggled-over "Blackout" album, the singer's first in four years, contains flashes of the zippy pop and propulsive dance beats Brit fans treasure, despite the singer's, shall we say, distracting activities of the last year.
On the contrary, those adventures may only have helped matters for the disk, out next Tuesday.

The time has finally come, Britney's long-awaited, fifth studio record is on the way, and you have one week to preorder it before it hits the streets on October 30. There are many stand out tracks including the enthralling "Piece of Me," and the up tempo "Break the Ice" Another impressive addition is the Giorgio-Moroder-inspired "Heaven on Earth" which is more layered and has an incredible flow and energy. And of course, "Gimme More" which is the track currently burning up the charts.
