Yesterday, I had a crummy, stressful day at work. It was one of those days when the higher-ups are freaking out about an impossible deadline at the end of the week, getting everyone else all stirred up and anxious, only to find out later that the deadline is actually two weeks away. It was frustrating and tiring.

' oh kiss me, beneath the milky twilight '
I sat at the bleachers waiting for you, we had arranged to meet at 9am after your session. As always, you were late. You were hanging out with a group of guys, it didn't surprise me when you ran up to me apologising and tugging my arm.

Kitchen WisdomStuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of an ice cream cone to prevent ice cream drips.Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake! You are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it anyway! To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix. Keeps in the pantry for up to a year. When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.Go to the bakery!

I needed to make a small batch of cupcakes for a man at church, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to both try out The Pioneer Woman's Best Chocolate Sheet Cake Ever and to show you a small tutorial on how I make buttercream icing and how to pipe it onto cupcakes. Here's the recipe and the following pictures that I took during the process.

This version of chiffon cake combines style with the crispness of fresh lime juice. Canola oil and beaten egg whites achieve the lightness of angel food cake and a tender, moist crumb. Blueberries, mint and lime wedges are simple elegant garnishes.
