When the going gets tough, the tough have shown they become serious softies about their furry and feathered friends.
Despite the recession, this year Americans are expected to increase their spending on pets to $45.4 billion, up $2.2 billion from last year, according to the American Pet Products Association. Meanwhile, over the same period of time, retail spending on human luxuries, like those bought at department stores, are down double-digit percentages.

Medicare for All Is a Killer
By Peter Ferrara
America's Left/Liberals, and their spokesman Barack Obama, insist that everything about health care would be wonderful if only the government would take it over. Their preferred plan, embraced by Obama, is to throw Medicare open to everyone, and then over time force everyone into it. They say if you have employer-provided insurance, you can keep it.

MEXICO CITY – Capital residents ate lunch on sidewalks, in parks or at the office Tuesday as the government prohibited restaurants from letting people eat inside in a further attempt to contain the flu virus claiming new lives every day.
"It's strange," said Iván Ramírez, who was carrying his fast-food meal from the touristy Zona Rosa to his office. Restaurants could still offer food to go.

These are pixs I took of our cruise ship. If you ever want to go on a cruise in the future I highly recommend Royal Caribbean Int'l and I highly recommend this particular ship. It's their biggest ship, the food was 24/7 buffets, the alcohol was free-flowing and the service was impeccable.

Redbook madras chickenYesterday, I spent 1 1/2 hours in a prep kitchen preparing my family meals. I prepared six servings of the following dishes and this will feed my family until the first week in October! Using the prep kitchen and freezing my meals makes it easier for me to work my crazy hours and still come home and cook (which I love to do).

NEW YORK - Zach Brooks pocketed $1,000 this month blogging about the cheap lunches he discovers around midtown Manhattan ($10 or less, preferably greasy, and if he's lucky, served from a truck).
The site, Midtownlunch.com, is just a year and a half old and gets only about 2,000 readers daily, but it's already earning him enough each month for a weekend trip to the Caribbean — or in his case, more fat-filled culinary escapades in the city.
In the vast and varied world of blogging, Brooks is far from alone.
