On a balmy autumn day in Vancouver, a young man is longing for a walk outside in the sunshine, and deciding against it. Far easier for him to stay in his hotel room, cocooned in five-star luxury with a mobile phone that has run out of charge, safe at least from the girls chanting his name outside. Robert Pattinson, 23 and from Barnes in southwest London, ought still to be one of Hollywood’s beautiful dreamers, moving up the ranks of movie acting, enjoying his American adventure, his guitar, his good looks.

Jennie Garth likes to be lazy. She describes herself as a "homebody" who lucked into her 20-year acting career, calling it a "right place, right time" kind of thing. My boyfriend seems to have had all the sense and brains he was born with turned completely upside down lately. Some of this might be romantic inexperience (I'm only his 3rd relationship), but at 25 I think he should know better. I have been having problems with feeling respected lately, and I told him so, namely:
1) I had to fight to get him to come to my choir recital, which he grudgingly decided to come to because since it's a choir and we were singing Mozart it was "real music" (as opposed to anything besides rock and heavy metal, which is all he listens to - he won't let me listen to anything else in his presence), and he outright refused to come to my dance class' performance, after we had been working hard on it for a year - and he knew this - because he "doesn't like dancing", even watching it.
