The swine-flu scare has prompted a number of recommendations from the Catholic Diocese of Dallas, including a big one about attendance at Mass.
“If you are not feeling well, especially during this time of concern, please stay at home and do not risk spreading infection to others,” said the Rev. Michael Dugan, the diocese’s director of the Office of Liturgy, in a statement posted on the diocese Web site.

The new Dallas Cowboys Stadium will offer $60 pizzas
By Chris Chase
According to the Cowboys, the 20-inch pizzas at the new stadium will cost $60, not $90 as reported. For ONE pizza with NO toppings! (That's the same price they were in the suites at Texas Stadium.) There will be five different types of pizza available for that price.

We are going to be in Dallas over the July 4th weekend to attend a wedding. There are two wedding events that we are going to, but they are in the evenings of the 3rd (halud) and 4th (reception). That gives us the days free, and I am wondering if anyone has any ideas of fun stuff to do in Dallas with a 5 year old.

If one Jessica Simpson may have distracted Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, imagine what a stadium full of them could do.
The Web site Ruin Romo wants to find out. It urges fans of other NFL teams to download a Simpson mask to wear at Romo's games Saturday at Carolina and the following week at Washington.

What I find interesting about this is both how much has changed AND how much hasn't.

Dear Mr. President:
In this time of mourning and appreciating how very busy you are, I still must write about existing conditions here in East Texas, even if you are too busy to read this, because I feel it is my duty to do so.

A story that began with one woman's complaint to a TV station about the ticket she'd been given by police "for being a non-English speaking driver" has mushroomed in Dallas.
As the Morning News reports: "since 2007, at least 20 Dallas police officers from five patrol divisions have wrongly cited motorists for not speaking English."
The newspaper says the number of officers involved "is likely to grow because Dallas police officials say they plan to look back several more years and include the supervisors who signed off on the tickets in the investigation for possible dereliction of duty."
