Thomas Jefferson Memorial across the Tidal Basin (notice the crowds on the front steps!)

A bar in DC, Hawk n' Dove, which is near Capitol Hill, allegedly recently denied entry to two Marines. The bar has yet to give a firm answer as to why. One representative said that some Marines from the nearby barracks had caused problems one night, so they denied entry only to Marines from those barracks (despite the fact that the Marines who were recently denied entry were from Quantico).

The Catholic Archdiocese of Washington said Wednesday that it will be unable to continue the social service programs it runs for the District if the city doesn't change a proposed same-sex marriage law, a threat that could affect tens of thousands of people the church helps with adoption, homelessness and health care.
Under the bill, headed for a D.C. Council vote next month, religious organizations would not be required to perform or make space available for same-sex weddings.
