I'm voting a strong HATE IT. In addition to red, blue, purple, etc jeans I saw that Urban Outfitters is adding acid wash to their denim...I think this is truly a trend for people who like to wear clothes that are "so ugly they're cool"...which I hate...am I wrong? I've seen double denim cropping up in a few places, like here and here, and I decided that I'd be a little less daring and mix my denims by doing completely different colors. Black denim jeans and a denim jean jacket is about as 'denim on denim' that I'll get --- for now.
