WASHINGTON — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will soon announce that gay American diplomats will be given benefits similar to those that their heterosexual counterparts enjoy, U.S. officials said Saturday.
In a notice to be sent soon to State Department employees, Clinton says regulations that denied same-sex couples and their families the same rights and privileges that straight diplomats enjoyed are "unfair and must end," as they harm U.S.

Who's Running TARP? You Might Not Wanna Know
By Zachary Roth - January 12, 2009, 6:35PM
Last week, Congress's oversight panel for the TARP funds confirmed in a report that the Treasury Department essentially has no idea what banks have done with the astronomical sums they've been handed.
Given this lack of information, we figured it might at least be helpful to know a bit about a few of the people at Treasury who are in charge of administering the massive program, and what their backgrounds might tell us about the way they've gone about it.

NYC Health Department Launches Calorie Education Campaign
To maintain a healthy weight, most adults need no more than 2,000 calories a day
October 6, 2008 – "Read 'em before you eat 'em," the Health Department advises in a new campaign launched today to help New Yorkers make the most of the city's calorie-posting rules. Under the New York City Health Code, chain restaurants are now required to post calorie counts for food items on menus and menu boards. The rule took effect this summer, after a federal court upheld it and an appellate court refused to delay enforcement while the industry tries again to overturn it.

QUESTION: About a month or two ago, there was an IG report that warned that Blackwater was likely going to lose its license to operate in Iraq. That has now happened. Considering that you guys have been aware of this impending decision for some time, I presume that contingency plans have been made.

Does John McCain really think Meg Whitman would make a good treasury secretary, or was he just trying to win over a few Hillary voters when he was asked a question on this topic during Tuesday's debate? I suspect the latter. We all know that eBay is the province of millions of housewives making a few bucks selling yard-sale junk, votes McCain desperately needs.

So, I know I've been MIA for a while, but work was INSANE this week and I didn't even get a chance to post about the flicks I saw last weekend. This was one of them.
Way back in 1996 I saw William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and fell in love with Leonardo DiCaprio (who didn't?).

The Departed is not only an Oscar nominated action-packed film with some of the greatest actors of our time, but it is also a gadget-packed movie featuring some of the most advanced technology of our time! Here is a shot from a sting set up, where the police are equipped with high-tech laptops and headphones to help them combat Jack Nicholson's organized crime ring. Some interesting techie tidbits: When Colin Sullivan, played by Matt Damon, is switching Sim cards in the phone booth, he is using a Sprint RL7400 cell phone, which doesn't actually use Sim cards in real life.
