I've been babysitting again and we've been debating very important issues, naturally ;) One of the issues is whether Ariel counts as a princess but I'll leave that controversy to a different topic.

Hi, everyone! I've been a member here for a while, commenting here and there, but this is actually my first post!
I was wondering whether anybody else here signed up for the Half-Marathon weekend in Florida?

Back in March I wrote about Disney preparing to launch their ”Disney Princess Bridal Gown Line” by designer Kirstie Kelly. Well those dresses were finally unveiled in New York during fashion week and if you couldn’t be there, here they are. The collection includes only six of the eight princesses and they are: Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.

I've been working hard trying to get fit for the Disney Princess Half Marathon. I have been trying to eat better, work out more, and loose a little weight while I'm at it. Here is my progress thus far:
- Eating: I have been doing a decent job trying to eat better. I have been packing my lunch more often; therefore, my portions have been more controlled and my choices have been a bit healthier. I could still do a better job in this department but I have made improvements, which is very positive!
- Weight: I have lost a few pounds and I'm really happy about that. I do have about 10 more pounds to lose. These last 10 are very stubborn but the few pounds I have already lost give me some hope, not to mention, it motivates me more!
- Fitness: This is an area I am very proud of right now. On Superbowl Sunday, I ran a half marathon. I got the opportunity to run it last minute (a friend dropped out of the race a week before and offered to transfer her bib) and I jumped on it. I figured that I would finish the race at my own pace and just use it as a measuring stick for the Disney Princess Half Marathon that I have been training for all along. But during the race, I got competitive and really pushed myself. The race was difficult but I did much better than I expected. I finished in 2 hours and I am really proud of that time. Last year I did a half a bit faster but I was in better shape then. I can't wait to run the Disney half, especially now that I have a better feeling of where my fitness level is. The Disney half is only a few weeks away and I can't wait to get out there again!

Wow. It has been a crazy, busy new year! But even though I have been swamped, I still have kept my commitment to myself and have been working on getting fit. I know that this is only beginning of the process but I am encouraged by my progress thus far.

I've always wanted to run a marathon but running long distance is difficult for me. I play soccer and am good at sprinting and running short distances, but long...that is not my strength. I have run one half marathon...once...only once, and that was last year. Since that last run I had knee surgery and went traveling, thus, I am not where I was a year ago. So my goal, is to get back there. I am going to work towards a half marathon and hopefully build towards a full marathon by year end.
Here is the first goal:
I'm planning on running the Disney Princess Half Marathon in Florida on March 7th.
Meaning, I better kick my workout routine into full gear!

My goal for 2010 is to drop the weight I have slowly gained over the past couple of years. I don't want to be looking back at old photos (in which I probably thought I was heavy at the time) and wish I was back there. I want to fit back into the clothes that I left in my closet (like these Seven jeans to the left) in the hopes I would eventually not squeeze but glide back into them.

I don't have to tell you- half naked women are everywhere. You name it, someone has stuck a picture of a half naked woman on it. TV, movies, billboards, magazines in the grocery store check-out, ads on the side of your Internet page.
