New York – Pop star Lady Gaga is not afraid to take fashion risks, as her ensemble for the 13th annual ACE Awards proved. At New York's Cipriani on 42nd Street on Monday, Nov. 2, to pick up her "Stylemaker" award from presenter Marc Jacobs, Lady Gaga wore a fifties-style pale pink bra and girdle-like panties over a gray crushed velvet shirt in a masculine-meets-feminine play.

A house capable of floating atop rising floodwaters made its debut Tuesday in New Orleans alongside more than a dozen other homes built through actor Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation. Called the FLOAT House, the unique home aims to answer the challenge posed by the Big Easy’s flood risk, starkly illustrated by the rising waters of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
“I wanted to float it down the Mississippi River to New Orleans,” architect Thom Mayne says with a chuckle while in New Orleans for Tuesday’s event.

Two months ago, style icon Emma Watson nixed the idea of creating her own celebrity fashion line — unless it benefited a charity. And it looks like she’s found her worthy cause. The Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince star has just announced that she’s lending her design talents to British fair-trade fashion label People Tree for a spring/summer collection of women’s and men’s apparel and accessories.

I've come across a new sandal which I love! The brand is called SWAMISZ, they come in a variety of colours and are so comfortable. I picked up a pair over the weekend and have fallen in love! They are eco-friendly and 100% natural rubber. They have a stylish toe plug and support strap to keep it on your foot, it is similar to a flip-flop but you don't get the sound while walking which normal flip-flops make.SWAMISZ is a design modelled on Ancient Indian wooden shoes named the "Paduka" - except the SWAMISZ are funky and fashionable.I thought I would inform everyone about this new sandal if you don't already know, they are so comfortable and you can literally wear them everywhere!

This much anticipated event brings fashion and compassion together by uniting Bay Area fashion students and professional designers with the important mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society. Incredible design transformations include an evening dress created out of 10 pairs of Dockers by Cari Borja; an inspired cocktail dress made from a vintage Chinese robe by Sweet P from Project Runway; a woman’s leather jacket made from a briefcase by students at The Academy of Art; and a Fiji eco-gown created with Fiji Water packaging materials and recycled Fiji Water bottles by Elaine O'Malley and Lisa Fullerton. This fun and flirty design boasts a bustier that is hand embroidered with tiny sequins made from Fiji Water bottles, and a base fabric of hand dyed natural silk/hemp charmeuse with a light sheen.
