I have always thought that keeping a food journal was a great way to lose weight. Yes, it might seem a bit obsessive to write down everything you consume, but it sure will make you accountable for the calories you consume.
A new study by Kaiser Permanente backs up my theory.

Most of my life I've often wondered why Thanksgiving seemed to be for many families a trigger word for family dysfuction. Why individuals couldn't just let that disagreement with another family member go for one bloody day and enjoy some good food and conversation with more pleasant family members. I have to keep reminding my self that I'm pragmatic by nature and that is apparently unusual.

Considering this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I though this would be a good post.
There's no part of our bodies that we obsess about more than our breasts. Even those of us not prone to health anxiety wonder which, if any, of our everyday habits are upping our odds of getting breast cancer.

Scientists at the Technion in Haifa have created a device that they hope will be able to detect cancer with a simple breath test. In an initial trial, the “breathalyzer” test was able to detect lung cancer with 86 percent accuracy.
The new device was revealed this week in the journal Nature Nanotechnology.
