WASHINGTON - The shortage of qualified child-care providers is a major concern for Air Force families, and the Air Force is working to resolve it, the chief of Airman and Family Services at the Pentagon said.
While the Air Force offers Airmen quality, affordable child care at on-base facilities throughout the world, providing full staffing at those facilities is an issue, Eliza Nesmith said.

Iraq pullout is 'met with relief'

For the first time, a rough official timetable for British forces to leave Iraq has been made public.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown has said that the British mission there will end no later than 31 May, 2009.
He is expected to provide further details of the withdrawal to Parliament on Thursday.

(CNSNews.com) – The Chinese government reportedly has backed down amid international outrage, reversing a decision to force a Uighur woman who is six months pregnant to abort her child under Beijing’s notorious population control policies.
Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported that Arzigul Tursun had been released from enforced hospitalization in China’s far northwestern Xinjiang region and allowed to return home to continue her pregnancy.

Right now there is a bill before Congress, specifically HR 675 which will make amendments to title 10 of the United States Code. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with title 10, title 10 is the section of the US Code that deals with the military. HR 675 could be a back door around Posse Comitatus.

A man named Gokhan Mutlu claims, JetBlue Airways made him sit in the bathroom for part of his flight and for their disregard for his safety and “flush” with anger has filed a $2 million lawsuit against the airline. A flight attendant originally volunteered to sit in a “jump seat” so Mutlu could make it onto the flight. But the flight attendant had a change of heart once the flight took off.
