ASAN, South Korea - Brides in white gowns and Japanese kimonos joined grooms in black suits and red ties Wednesday for the Unification Church's biggest mass wedding in a decade — a spectacle church officials say involves 40,000 people around the world.
The "blessing ceremony" is the church's largest since 1999, and may well be the last on such a grand scale officiated by the 89-year-old Rev. Sun Myung Moon, the controversial founder of the Unification Church.

Lily Bass, played by Kelly Rutherford, might have ditched the black tie wedding for a garden ceremony at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, but that doesn’t mean her Upper East Side guests were any less fashionable. Her daughter, Serena van der Woodsen, played by Blake Lively, celebrated her mother’s nuptials in an olive green J. Mendel strapless dress with beaded detail paired with muted red heels.

Britney Spears has called off her romance with her longtime agent Jason Trawick, according to a new report. The singer is said to have asked Trawick for some time for herself after the couple`s relationship began to turn serious as he accompanied the pop star on her Circus world tour.Spears was even rumored to have been engaged to Trawick earlier this month after she was photographed with a sparkling ring on her wedding finger - but the 27 year old has now taken a break from their love affair, reports OKmagazine.com.One source tells the website, "They are taking some time apart," while another adds, "She told him she needed to get back on her own two feet before moving forward. Jason was disappointed, but he understood."Trawick was spotted entertaining a group of female admirers during a night out in Hollywood last weekend as Spears prepared to perform three consecutive concerts at New York`s Madison Square Garden. But the insider suggests it might not be the end for the couple, adding, "Jason`s always loved her, (even) since the Justin Timberlake days, so he won`t let her go easily. He`s giving her space - that`s what she`s asked for."

I'm in the wedding spirit today, kids! Not only did I find out that Isaac Mizrahi is doing BRIDAL for Target , but I came across some excellent ideas for wedding gifts. And, seeing as how it's been Wedding Central around here lately, I thought I'd throw some ideas out there since wedding season is quickly approaching....

The wife of a rich man fell sick, and as she felt that her end was drawing near, she called her only daughter to her bedside and said, "Dear child, be good and pious, and then the good God will always protect you, and I will look down on you from heaven and be near you."
Thereupon she closed her eyes and departed. Every day the maiden went out to her mother's grave, and wept, and she remained pious and good.

Memories from the Great Depression seem more relevant today than ever. The New York Times is starting a series of video conversations about that painful past and the uncertain future.

Friendly fire: NYT hits Obama
By JONATHAN MARTIN | 3/22/09 7:10 PM EDT
The leading liberal voices of the New York Times editorial pages all criticized—and, in some cases, clobbered—President Obama on Sunday for his handling of the economy and national security.
It's not unusual for Barack Obama to take a little friendly fire from the Times. But it's perhaps unprecedented for him to get hit on the same day by columnists Frank Rich, Thomas Friedman and Maureen Dowd—and in the paper's lead editorial.
