LONDON — What do Amy Winehouse's flaming beehive and Guy Ritchie's self-inflicted black eye have in common?
Both stories appeared in the pages of Britain's tabloid press. Neither is true.

George Clooney is setting his sights on a Millionaire . Oscar-nominated actor George Clooney, 47, has grown smitten with 24-year-old Indian actress Freida Pinto… According to the March 23 issue of Star Magazine , George has a killer crush on Freida. We hear the actor is pulling out all the stops for just one shot at romancing the exotic Mumbai-born beauty, who obtained overnight sex symbol status after landing a lead role in the Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire .

Edit: Full poll results can be found here: Vanity Fair
NEW YORK – Half the respondents of a new poll say taxing the richest Americans by at least 50 percent is a great idea, while more than a third consider Twitter a fad that will likely fade.
Those are among the findings of a new "60 Minutes"-Vanity Fair Poll released Sunday.
Nearly half of the respondents chose Wal-Mart as the institution that best symbolizes America today, leaving in the dust runners-up Google, Microsoft, the NFL, and the banking and securities firm Goldman Sachs.

In a story that I expected to hear months ago, an insider tells In Touch that George Clooney broke up with his much-younger cocktail waitress girlfriend, Sarah Larson. This news comes a little over two weeks after an interview with “It Girl” Larson was published in Harper’s Bazaar. The 29 year-old Fear Factor winner dished on how she met George, called him “funny and sweet” and said she wanted to get him to wear designer jeans and style his hair in a fauxhawk.

Time Magazine has a new interview with George Clooney, in which he appears on the upcoming cover with the title “The Last Movie Star.” The article seems to say very little despite how long it is, and comes off as this fawning fanboy piece about how excited the journalist is to have Clooney come over to his house for dinner. Clooney is a nice guy and an old school movie star of the highest order, claims author Joel Stein, who is embarrassed that he didn’t cook the lamb properly when Clooney was over, helping with dinner and making him feel comfortable in his own home.
Clooney talked about how frustrated and depressed he was after going to Darfur as a UN representative, wondering if he made a difference or if he just made the places and people he visited targets for more violence:
“I’ve been very depressed since I got back.

Here comes another remake! The latest classic movie to be reworked is Alfred Hitchcock’s classic The Birds. If you’ve ever seen the original, you probably see birds in a whole different light.

It’s nice when you get to temper all the “naughty celebrity” news with famous people doing good things. And George Clooney is often on that list. The BBC reports that George has been named one of the United Nation’s “messenger of peace.” He will support the U.N.’s worldwide peacekeeping activities, and bring attention to various needy causes.
