Once upon a time, Joe Lieberman was interesting—not always correct, in my view, but interesting. He was interesting because he thought for himself. On most issues, most senators line up pretty automatically with their party.

My personal comment: I hope improves drug safety, and halts drug recalls! We as a public, should be able to believe that legal medications are safe.

October deficit bigger than expected
by Ed Morrissey
What better way to kick off Barack Obama’s first full budget year as President than with a deficit that exceeded the White House’s own projections as well as analysts’ expectations? The federal government busted the budget worse than last October by $20 billion with a deficit of $176.36 billion for the month. As millions of people worldwide begin getting the new swine flu shot, public health officials are bracing for rumors about dangerous side effects linked to the vaccine.
To provide context, experts combed hospital databases and population samples in Britain, Canada, Finland, the United States and elsewhere to find daily baseline rates of commonly reported events like Guillain-Barre syndrome, sudden deaths, seizures and abortions.

1. Protect with PLE – If you are concerned about the effects of sun damage on the skin, consider taking an oral supplement that offers photo-protection, such as polypodium leucotomas extract, or PLE. Recent clinical research has found that this extract from a South American fern has powerful antioxidant and photoprotective properties.

Skin Deep pairs ingredients in nearly 25,000 products against 50 definitive toxicity and regulatory databases, making it the largest integrated data resource of its kind. Why did a small nonprofit take on such a big project? Because the FDA doesn't require companies to test their own products for safety.
