I wish I could claim this recipe as my own, but no - I found it on the aptly-named blog Cumin & Coriander (cumicori.blogspot.com). But I made it last night and was really pleased at the flavor the cumin gave the burgers (I used about 1 teaspoon of cumin - the recipe calls for 2). Here is blogger Stefanie's recipe for homemade hamburgers with cumin:
This is what I end up making when I have ground beef in the freezer and don't feel like standing in front of the stove stirring anything saucy.

The only thing "premium" about these strips is the caloric price you pay. Add a large fries and regular soda and this seemingly innocuous chicken meal tops out at 1,710 calories.

If you are like me sometimes time and convenience do not permit to a homemade healthy meal. Sometimes between work and class I feel like I have no other option than picking up something at the fast food place. Of course fast food isn't great for you, but I was looking at my 'Shape' magazine and noticed they had some better decisions of fast food chains and I thought I'd share them!

This recipe is originally from "The Tofu Cookbook" by Becky Johnson. Those cutlets are very healthy, filling and versatile and they freeze well! I will try to include a picture soon but in the meanwhile here is my healthier version of the recipe:
Serves 4
90g / 3,5oz brown rice
15 ml / 1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion finely chopped
1 garlic clove
200g / 7oz walnuts
small bunch of rosemary or sage
250g/ 9oz firm tofu drained and crumbled
30ml / 2 tbsp soy sauce
1- Preheat oven to 200C / 400F.
