This recipe comes from the book "Savoring The Seasons of the Northern Heartland", written by Beth Dooley and Lucia Watson. My favorite way to serve them is with the meatballs and gravy over egg noodles. Completely droolworthy, you betcha! :feedme: If you wish to serve them traditionally, 86 the noodles and opt for sides of boiled new potatoes, lefse, and brown butter. If you don't want to fork around with making meatballs, make a Swedish Meat Loaf by packing the mixture into a 9-inch loaf pan and baking at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes.
SWEDISH MEATBALLS
Serves 8
1 pound pork sausage
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground veal
2 slices white bread
1/4 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Butter or vegetable oil for frying
Gravy
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons unbleached all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
2 cups homemade dark stock or low-salt canned beef broth
In a large bowl, mix together all of the ingredients except the butter. (It's best to use your hands to do the mixing.) Shape into small meatballs. Then heat the butter in a large skillet set over medium-high heat and gently brown the meatballs on all sides. Place them on a heated platter in the oven to keep warm.
To make the gravy, blot the grease from the skillet. Add the butter and melt over low heat. Stir in the flour and cook about 1 to 2 minutes, or until brown and bubbly. Stir in the mustard. Slowly stir in the stock and cook until the gravy is thickened and does not taste "floury." Put the meatballs back into the skillet, cover, and cook over very low heat for about 10 minutes.

Video: Hair loss Treatment
Hair has always been considered a symbol of beauty and fashion for women. This is why the problem typically associated with men causes so much anguish with women experiencing hair loss. Instances have even been found where girls as young as 15 years old are victims of the condition. Following are a few key reasons that women will experience excessive loss at some point in their lives:
Our hair typically grows at the rate of ½ inch per month. After a growth phase of two to six years, the follicle then rests for two or three months. At this point, the hair falls out, and the follicle grows a new hair. This is why it’s normal to experience some hair loss on a daily basis. One reason that some women experience thinning hair is an interruption in this typical growth cycle.
Hormones called androgens are usually the culprit in interfering with hair growth patterns. Testosterone is the most widely known androgen, but androsteinedione and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) also belong to this group. Androgens are found in large amounts in men, but smaller amounts in women. When a woman is genetically predisposed to hair loss, testosterone is actually converted to DHT in the hair cell, and then resides within the hair follicle. As time goes by, a buildup of DHT causes the natural growth and resting phases of hair to become erratic because the follicle is shrinking.
Female pattern baldness is much different than male pattern baldness. Some cases are caused by androgens in women, but the pattern of hair loss is much different in women versus men. Women typically lose their hair in a broader area, around the entire crown of the head. Unlike men, advancing age has nothing to do with female hair loss; women may lose their hair at any point in life.

We've all been there, those days when we're feeling really low, its our time of the month or we've just ate a ton and feel bloated and not so sexy. A lot of us turn to the internet to calculate our BMI, get healthy eating tips or to get some info on the latest exercise breakthrough. However we've disturbingly discovered the new internet sites that are feeding into our bad body image – and they are by no means pro anorexia sites.

I don't know many people who look forward to a rainy day on a beach vacay, but this plan may make you more inclined. Although normal rates for Malaysia's luxury Tanjong Jara Resort will run upwards of $350 per night, if you encounter more than an inch of rainfall in any 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Oh, that's right.
Happiest of birthdays to Jared Padalecki, who's turning 25 today!
There's also a new picture of Jensen, from his recent film Ten Inch Hero, making the rounds.

I love me some mashed potatoes, especially on Thanksgiving. The problem is that this dish is usually overloaded with tons of butter and cream, which can be a big problem if you're trying to stay healthy. One way I make my mashed potatoes healthier is by using Yukon Gold or Yellow Finn potatoes instead of the old stand-by, Russet potatoes.

The bootie trend is huge this season. I recently saw this pair at Steve Madden and wasted no time in purchasing. I mean, it’s purple suede…with ruffles, hello!

Yesterday, I had a crummy, stressful day at work. It was one of those days when the higher-ups are freaking out about an impossible deadline at the end of the week, getting everyone else all stirred up and anxious, only to find out later that the deadline is actually two weeks away. It was frustrating and tiring.
