MartiniLush had asked me about healthcare in Japan and I never got the chance to give a more detail overview. I was skimming the news just now and I saw that NYT had a pretty good article on it so I thought I shared.

Oh when will we westerners learn. There's a reason why you don't see many Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, or other Asians walking around with any type of calligraphy inked on their skin.
So many times I'll see someone with a Kanji Tattoo and I have to try not to laugh with what they have inked on their skin.

I sense that the look I selected for the next competition isn't being received with enthusiasm.
So to help you ladies out, I did decided to put some examples of Japanese Street Fashion up and hopefully that inspires you all to do some research and put some really great lists together. I was hoping to have to toss and turn over my decisions...but so far only one person has entered.

nColorful Bead & Flower Necklace & Earring Set

Cherry Print Sporty Sneaker Wedges
Black Opaque Colored Pantyhose

I love Japanese street looks. Even though I had to scrap the challenge, I still want to share some awesome lists with everyone. What I love about Japanese Street Fashion is how it doesn't match, it can be dark (Goth), and how its so vintage..looks I will so you later.

An old friend -- an academic with expertise about the Japanese Empire, and in general a supporter of President Obama -- sends me the following note, relating to photographs of President Obama bowing to Emperor Akihito of Japan.
"This picture shows two things," my friend writes.
"1) The 'right' is wrong about Obama's bow.

One of my decorating goals is to one day have a Japanese style bath. Of course, I'd have to incorporate a shower stall in there because I don't think I could live without that!
Here are some inspirations.
