Daily Mail shares insights into how Kristen is prepping for her role as Joan Jett, and Joan's confidence in KStew's ability to portray her younger-self:
After being cast as Joan Jett in an upcoming movie, who better to teach Kristen Stewart about rock 'n' roll than the Seventies rocker herself.
The Twilight actress, 19, has been cast as the I Love Rock 'N' Roll singer, 50, in the biopic The Runways.
And to prepare for the role, Kristen has been meeting frequently with Joan, real name Joan Larkin, who has given her blessing to the movie about her first band The Runways.

I remember when I was dating my hubby in Highschool and he bought me this tape.
I used to think she was the coolest . She still is and is still rocking.

I think that Joan and Carmen look adorable in this pic. Check out the frugal outfits I found for them. I took some liberties with Carm's dress because I think hers is a teeny bit too frilly (and maybe because I couldn't find anything too similar :innocent: ).

Last month, “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart made big news with the announcement that she’d soon be portraying another headstrong, no-nonsense tough girl with a disarming beauty and a wicked attitude: the one and only Joan Jett.
Recently we caught up with KStew at Sundance to get her thoughts on “New Moon” her upcoming film “Adventureland” and the biopic that will soon have her putting another dime in the jukebox, baby.
“I’m, like, vibrating,” grinned Stewart when we asked about “The Runaways,” a 1970’s-era flick about the influential all-girl rock band fronted by Jett and Lita Ford.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have remained coy about their relationship, but the New Moon costars looked awfully close over the weekend in New York City – even though they're done promoting their hit movie. On Thursday, while their castmates were partying after their Big Apple premiere at the Box on New York's Lower East Side, Pattinson and Stewart took a tour of the city's hotspots together.

Kristen Stewart has signed on to play famous rock’n'roller Joan Jett in the film "The Runaways". Music video director Floria Sigismondi wrote and will help with the project.
The film is a biopic of the first successful all-girl hard rock band The Runaways, which fell apart after four years due to management and money disputes.

The first decade of the 21st century, which is about to draw to a close, is in serious danger of being remembered as the time when fame was measured in pokes, tweets, and the ability to parlay a death-defying (and sometimes not so death-defying) degree of persona recklessness into a reality-television deal. But just as the door was about to slam shut on the double aughts, in walks—or, more appropriately, saunters—Kristen Stewart. At 19, Stewart has already earned a place in the annals of pop-culture history. This is due to her starring role in Twilight, which—in case you’ve somehow managed to elude word of its all-encompassing death grip on young America—is a film based on the first in a series of very popular books about vampires, werewolves, and teenage life in the town of Forks, Washington.
