Shia LaBeouf began shooting "Transformers" two days after finishing "Disturbia," a teen thriller that required the young actor to delve within himself and relive painful personal moments to hit the right emotional notes.
Acting in "Transformers," a fantasy movie based on toy alien robots, provided different challenges.
"My first day on the set was being chased by these rabid monster dogs that were like horses!"

Before his weekend DUI arrest, Shia LaBeouf opened up about his struggles with alcohol in Details' September issue (out August 12).
The most shocking revelation: LaBeouf, 22, and his father, a former heroin addict, "would drink together and smoke together," the actor told the magazine, "and it's just a bad deal.
"It's not something that is conducive to being a role model — no iconic actors that I know of have problems like that," LaBeouf added.

22 year-old Indiana Jones actor Shia LaBeouf’s former run-ins with the law were minor incidents which could be chalked up to youthful indiscretions. He was arrested for a drunken stand-down in a Walgreens with a security guard who made fun of him for purchasing Clearasil in November of last year. Shia was staying at a nearby hotel and was not driving at the time.

Shia LaBeouf, who was arrested for drunk driving Sunday after being involved in a car accident in Hollywood, is recovering from surgery, his rep said in a statement.
"Attorneys for Mr. LaBeouf confirm that an automobile accident involving an additional party occurred early morning in Los Angeles on July 27, 2008," said Melissa Kates in the statement issued Sunday evening. "Shia is currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month.

What ladies? I’m surprised by this as Shia LaBeouf is at the top of his game having starred in one hit movie after the next. Spies are claiming that Shia’s game is a bit off as he couldn’t get a date to “go home with him” after a recent night out with some friends at Beatrice Inn.

court commissioner in Burbank, Calif., recalled a $1,000 bench warrant for Shia LaBeouf on Wednesday after the actor's attorney arrived a day late to plead not guilty on LaBeouf's behalf to illegally smoking.
LaBeouf, 21, was not in the courtroom when attorney Michael Norris entered the plea for the misdemeanor offense before Commissioner Kirkland Nyby. A pretrial hearing was set for April 24, says Superior Court rep Allan Parachini.

Some people never learn.
Shia LaBeouf seems to have forgotten the major issues he had back in February while smoking in a no smoking zone because he did it again today! This time the Transformers star decided to light one up in the bathroom of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum while filming and "set off blaring smoke detector alarms".
