Hey KGs!
I wanted to share my Thanksgiving menu and see if you had any ideas and/or advice. This is the first year we are going to deep-fry our bird.

You know those mornings when you
hit the snooze 5 times and are running
late, hardly time to brush your teeth,
let alone time to wash and style your hair. Here
are a couple of tips to freshen, at least your hair,
for the day. (DO take the time ot brush your teeth).
Powder Your Roots
So your hairline does not look greasy: Dig up a big, fluffy makeup brush, or a big cottonball and dip it into a
pot of after shower powder/body talc. Tap it once on the back of your hand to remove the excess, then dust
it over your roots. It mops up oil and blends into your strands, so no one will know you didn't shower.
Scent Strands with Perfume
Spray a light shot of fragrance into the bristles and run it through strands from roots
to ends and your hair will smell amazing throughout the day.

When I was in college, I read a book that changed my life. It was Susan Brownmiller's tome, Against Our Will: Men, Women, and Rape, which explained rape as an act of power instead of just lust. What I found particularly chilling was the chapter on war -- how rape is used to terrorize a population and destroy the enemy's spirit.

Christmas and New Years are about the only times you can be decked out in sequins and rhinestones galore (without being mistaken for a Vegas showgirl!). Stores have put out everything from hats, dresses, pants and tons of accessories full of glitz and glamour. I came across the Arden B.

Two Cygnets having just finished their morning feed of grass. Tjis photo is taken in Stephens Green Park in Dublin, Ireland just after sunrise. I love the early morning light and was delighted when these two young swans decided to pose for me.

I love me some mashed potatoes, especially on Thanksgiving. The problem is that this dish is usually overloaded with tons of butter and cream, which can be a big problem if you're trying to stay healthy. One way I make my mashed potatoes healthier is by using Yukon Gold or Yellow Finn potatoes instead of the old stand-by, Russet potatoes.
