There are many reason why some of us suffer from dry skin or excessively dry skin. Dry skin means that your skin is lacking water or it's ability to retain water. It may sound odd since most of us are pretty fastidious and will shower two or three times a day.

No, this isn 't a special Mother's Day mask. It's MOM for Milk of Magnesia (yeah, the stuff in the bottle for upset stomachs). I recently picked up Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me by Paula Begoun from the library because someone reminded me that I've been wanting to read it for a long time (thanks sofi!).

I bought this at ULTA on Sunday because it was $8 after coupons - normally $11.99. It promises "to restore radiance, even-skin tone, and smooth texture to skin. Formulated with Vitamin C to stimulate cell regeneration, Magnesium to energize and hydrate surface cells, and Lycopene to nourish skin and protect against environmental aggressors.

Spinach belongs to the same family as beets and chard. This broad, leafy vegetable is cooling and is jade green in color. It has the slight bitter taste of its sister, beet greens and the slightly salty flavor of chard.

I saw someone say milk of magnesia is a good mattifier in a comment the other day and I've been intrigued since. I googled it and found tons of comments on the miraculous benefits of using MOM as a primer. My skin is so oily that it takes two blotter sheets to control it by lunch.
