Liberals have long lamented the existence of two nations in America. They are right to do so today, but in a way they never meant. It is not the divide between rich and poor which soon will be causing serious pain on the left.

There's been a lot of buzz about the upcoming film The Edge of Love, starring Sienna Miller and Kiera Knightly.
The two ladies are joined by the cast this week in Edinburgh for the film festival. The movie looks really intense.

1. KNOW WHAT AN AGENT DOES
Why do you even need an agent? Because agents are the gatekeepers to the people who hire you for TV, film, and commercials — the casting directors (CDs) and producers.

Just a little background...
Death Proof is Quentin Tarantino's half of the double feature Grindhouse (Robert Rodriguez's half, Terror Planet is still in our Netflix queue). Grindhouse was conceived by the two directors as a 70's era double feature, like the exploitation films they showed in grindhouse theaters back in the day - slasher films, zombie films, blaxploitation films, women's prison films, car chase movies, motorcycle movies, etc.

Here's a round up of a few odds and ends that I picked up at a few different panels yesterday:
Fox Studios
At the last minute, this studio canceled their presentation, leaving their prime 2 hour time slot to be filled by trailers. A real shame too, as there are so many scheduling conflicts with panels this year, I would have loved to have spent that time watching one of the panels I missed, such as the Neil Gaiman spotlight panel, Dimension Studios panel, or one of the many pilots that I will be missing out on. Fox had been anticipated to bring along footage from their upcoming sequel Alien vs.

Jessica Simpson: Method actor? The stacked starlet -- with some help from current co-star Vivica A. Fox -- is rebuffing claims that she's achieved a vexing amount of verisimilitude while playing a dizzy, overindulged actress who joins the military in "Major Movie Star," which is currently shooting in Louisiana.

I went to see Colin Farrell in Cassandra's Dream (Woody Allen) last week and I was pleased to see Colin in a different type of role. He wasn't the hero or the hottie. Just a nice guy with some major issues.
