On a recent trip to Malaysia, my husband and I made it a priority to visit Kuala Lumpur's Little India's Saturday night street market. This weekly event is a must-visit attraction for any food lover who travels to Kuala Lumpur. The market, located on what seemed like a dark back alley, started to get busy as the sun went down. It took us nearly two hours to walk from one end of the market to the other.

I don't know many people who look forward to a rainy day on a beach vacay, but this plan may make you more inclined. Although normal rates for Malaysia's luxury Tanjong Jara Resort will run upwards of $350 per night, if you encounter more than an inch of rainfall in any 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - A judge in Malaysia has upheld a court verdict to cane a Muslim woman for drinking beer, news reports said Monday, re-igniting a controversy over Islamic justice in this moderate Muslim-majority country.
The Star newspaper's Web site and national news agency Bernama said the chief Shariah judge of Pahang state ruled that a Shariah High Court's verdict against Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno, 32, was correct and should stay.
If the punishment is carried out, Kartika would become the first Muslim woman to be caned in Malaysia, where about 60 percent of the 28 million people are Muslims.
