In my household, I'm the one who does most of the grocery shopping and all of the cooking. I work from home, so technically I have more free time to shop and cook, although my husband helps with the shopping when he can. As someone who was raised by a mother who made everything from scratch, shunned processed foods, and kept a garden, my core beliefs about food are that it should be good and good for you.

I was surfing the internet yesterday, looking for great recipes to try out and post, but my attention was immediately caught when I found this article:
Death to Expensive Eating Habits!
Cheaper Meal Planning
By Maureen Callahan, found on Allrecipes.com
Purposeful Shopping
The first step in slashing food dollars is to plan ahead. Most shoppers waste money on impulse buys or last-minute trips to the supermarket for missing ingredients.

Restricting calories to lose weight can be difficult sometimes. We all get cravings and sometimes find it very difficult to not have a "nibble of this" or a "nibble of that".
So how can we get through week after week of clean, healthy eating?

Nutrition and Fitness play hand in hand when it comes to weight loss. Do you know how many calories you should be eating? A good uncomplicated way to figure out your approximate calories is to take your bodyweight and multiply it by 11.

hey all -- i've really been enjoying all the great posts on fitsugar and the helpful tips everyone offers, and i want to throw my own into the mix.
since i started watching my food intake more carefully about 2 years ago, i've discovered and fallen in love with lean cuisine meals -- they're the only brand that to me actually tastes like GOOD FOOD, and they really help me from eating too much at lunch time.
but after a while, even as they added new combinations, i was getting soooo bored and craving something more substantial.

They always say bad press is good press right? After all, it got Burger King into Iron Man, one of the most sought after movies of 2008.
While Robert Downey Jr. was in the middle of his drug and alcohol addiction, he made a pit stop at Burger King.

Thanksgiving is a busy day in every household and coming up with ways to entertain the children can require more energy than a cooking mama or papa has on reserve. Planning a simple arts and crafts project and setting up a table for scribbling, decorating and family bonding time will keep the tots occupied while the grown-ups cook, watch football, sip a glass of vino and prepare the big meal. Check out some of our favorite projects for a little artistic inspiration.
