Increasing awareness of people with incurable wheat allergies
AP News
NEW YORK - As a longtime chef in four-star restaurants, Joseph Pace had seen appreciative customers before. But nothing prepared him for the day that a well-dressed man walked into his Greenwich Village restaurant, ordered a pizza and a beer, and broke into tears.
That man, Pace recalls, had been diagnosed ten years earlier with celiac disease — an incurable affliction that makes the body unable to take anything containing gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley and rye.

You can still order a Bloomin' Onion at Outback Steakhouse, a slice of 30th anniversary chocolate cake cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory, and a Pizookie at BJ's Restaurant Brewhouse.
But you'll have a harder time enjoying them in blissful ignorance. Since July 1, chains with at least 20 restaurants statewide have been required to provide diners with the gory nutritional details -- including calories.

I tried to use my drop down menu and lo & behold - it hid behind the video on the page!! I went to another page, used the drop down menu ... and it hid behind an ad embedded into that page, too!

I'm always surprised when I come across someone who doesn't know that yes Apple in a very unprecedented PC-esque move released a two button mouse quite some time ago. While some people actually even own the mouse and don't know if its capabilities above and beyond the fantastic little scroll ball thingy. I believe its defaults on first plug in to a machine are to keep both "buttons" as your primary button.

ATLANTA (AP) — The recession is hitting home for inmates, too: Some cash-strapped states are taking aim at prison menus.
Georgia prisoners already didn't get lunch on the weekends, and the Department of Corrections recently eliminated the midday meal on Fridays, too. Ohio may drop weekend breakfasts and offer brunch instead.
