Miuccia Prada ‘Liked It’ When Models Fell Down at Her Spring Show!!
Miuccia Prada's crotch-skimming waders were one of the hottest items to walk down the fall 2009 runways. Suddenly she had us all thinking we needed winter boots that won't permit us to wear pants. While everyone around her showed glitzy retro clubwear, she drew inspiration from a photo of a fisherman and somehow presented pantslessness in the least vulgar way possible.

"If you compare with philosophy, [fashion] is frivolous, but frivolity may be something good, something that is part of our lives, so I don't dislike it and what I like is the mix, that in your life you can have serious things, more frivolous ones,"
"Beauty is not something that is contrary; it is the right of everybody. Still I retain the idea of justice and so many other ideas, but that is my work, and it is a contradiction that still is creating me problems, but it's like this."

“The only difference that I noticed is that you have to be more and more yourself. What is really selling is what is really Prada. You can’t do some generic bullsh*t.”

Prada SS09 Ad Campaign
While other brands are hiring super models for ad campaigns like they're going out of style, Prada is already ahead of the game. Last season, Linda Evangelista lent her face to the Italian fashion house, and now they've moved on. The look is younger, more flexible, and a little less mysterious this time, as well as the models.
Prada Shortens Temporary Layoffs as Orders Rise!
MILAN (Reuters Life!) – Italian fashion house Prada is shortening temporary suspensions for some workers by three weeks after orders for its spring/summer 2010 clothes exceeded expectations by 10 percent.
The Milan fashion group, whose designer Miuccia Prada is seen as a trailblazer worldwide for fashion, had signed an agreement with union workers a few weeks ago to put 250 from a plant of 3,000 into "cassa integrazione," according to newspaper reports.
The scheme allows Italians in large industrial firms to be sent home temporarily on reduced pay.
