Even though everyone is still mourning over Olivier Theyskens, I still very much enjoyed what Marco Zanini did for Rochas Spring 2010. It seems as though he took a lot of his inspiration from the movie “The Lover” (which I love, by the way), incorporating little bits of vintage style from different decades (30s, 40s & 60s). I think the flowers belted at the waist are such a lovely idea.

Oliver Theyskens contract for Nina Ricci was a complete time bomb- it was up in October, but the brand and designer clearly wanted to go their separate ways. It was believed that in October, Louis Vuitton designer Peter Copping, currently Marc Jacob's LV right hand, would replace him. Now, however, in a joint statement made today between the brand and Theyskens, apparently he's already gone.

What goes up must come down. Last year at this time, we commented on the rise of irrational exuberance. In 2008, the world landed with a loud and well-documented thud.

Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker is usually fashion-forward, but at last week's NYC premiere of the film she found herself behind the times.
Parker, 39, was shocked to learn that her strapless Nina Ricci gown was worn earlier in the month by heiress Lauren (Davis) Santo Domingo to the Met's Costume Institute Gala (where she walked the carpet with the dress' designer, Olivier Theyskens).
Making matters worse, Lindsay Lohan wore the gown in an advertising campaign for Disney.

Let's all tell a bit about our country or town using 5 words (and of course explain what they stand for or why you picked them! I'll start by describing my country in general: Belgium
-chocolate: need I say more?
-fries: although the really thin ones are called FRENCH fries, fries are our specialty next to waffles, sprouts and endives.
