Recommendations for Heart Rate Monitors?
I need your help! I'm in the market for a heart rate monitor. Specifically, I want one that has mileage, heart rate (obviously), time and calories. I don't really need GPS functionality. Cost is a factor, of course.
What do you use or can recommend? Polar, Nike, Garmin, et.al?
Fed cuts key interest rate(yet again) by half a % pt to 1%
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Federal Reserve has slashed a key interest rate by half a percentage point as it seeks to revive an economy hit by a long list of maladies stemming from the most severe financial crisis in decades. The central bank on Wednesday reduced its target for the federal funds rate, the interest banks charge on overnight loans, to 1 percent, a low last seen in 2003-2004. A leading organisation of insurers and underwriters has predicted that the global recession and continued rising unemployment rate will see a surge in white collar crimes against businesses. The organisation also found that most businesses are not insured against cyber crimes, which could result in data theft or misuse, or business loss.
A spokes person for the organisation says, “According to a DTI Information Security Breaches Survey, one third of UK businesses think general small business insurance provides full cover for damage to the business arising from data loss, but the reality is quite different, with very few businesses likely to be insured against the result of cyber attacks on its most crucial management and business tool – corporate and customer information, most of which is today held on corporate IT systems.
42% Drop Out rates in the US...never cease to amaze me.
I was voting today in the Special Elections (for directors in education) for my county and when I came across the blurb that Oregon had a 42% drop out rate it's almost unbelievable. I'm originally from LA and in a city that large, it's a bit easier to believe, but when I stand outside and walk around Portland I just can't see it or believe it. Anyway this post is nothing special, but I do realize now more than ever how important it is that I stay involved in education and to become even more so as budget cuts find there way into the schools.Rob Talks Eclipse
