How To Fix A troubled Relationship

Relationships sometimes went through rough times and during this time you have to be equipped with the right knowledge and information on what to do to avoid separation, breaking up or divorce. Relationships are really complicated and you could fall into a situation that seems to be hopeless but remember that in every problem there is a solution and you can still fix a troubled relationship.

Here are some tips to fix a troubled relationship:
Ask yourself if you really want to keep the relationship and if it is worth saving. You have to analyze yourself if you really want to keep the relationship with your partner or spouse and if it is really worth it to go through the process or resolving the issues in your relationship. Willingness on your part and believing that the relationship is worth saving is very important if you want to fix a troubled relationship.
Identify the problem. Of course in order to fix a troubled relationship, you have to know what is wrong in your relationship. Identify or make a list of the things that always resulted to arguments and misunderstandings. Compromise and both agree on what should be done to resolve the issues. Dealing with the negative things in your relationship in a positive way is very helpful if you really want to save your relationship.
Open communication. It is important that the lines of communication are open to fix a troubled relationship. Things will be easier if you are both open to communicate with each other. It is not very healthy in a relationship to just assume things and let things just run into your head without talking it out with your partner. Misunderstandings may arise if you just assume things. Communication is not only important during conflicts but it is also important during good times. Sharing your thoughts and talking about beautiful things in your relationship is also one way of bonding with each other and realizing that there are still more good things in your relationship.
Learn when to listen and stop talking. We all need someone who listens and of course the best person we want to listen to us is our partner or spouse. Knowing that your partner is willing to stop talking and lend his or her ears to you is a very good feeling. You will feel that what you have in mind counts and important to your partner. It is easier to fix a troubled relationship if you know how to listen and stop talking. Keeping a relationship means hard work and dedication but sometimes when conflicts arise we are left clueless on what to do.
If you find it difficult to fix a troubled relationship, there are many proven ways to save a relationship. If you want to find out how to bring more love, understanding and passion to save your failing relationship mail me at tanaykumardas@in.com

Best Way to Handle a Breakup

If you really want to get your ex back, you will probably need a step by step formula to help you think through some basic strategies to win back your ex.

Accept The Break Up ??

I don't have to tell you that making the decision to stay in or leave a relationship is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make. Mourning the end of the relationship is the first step. One of the best things you can do is to accept the break up. But that is just the beginning because most relationships can be salvaged from the wreckage. You next step will be to try and start afresh. That means basically writing a short letter agreeing that it was the right thing to do to break up. An admission of defeat ? On the contrary, this is just the beginning. You do not even have to be full of recriminations or bitterness or even jealousy. Time to stay cool. Most of the books available on getting your ex back will tell you to start examining your own conscience and to play a waiting game and not do anything for a while. They charge you a lot for telling you that as well!

Stop SUFFERING !

Letting go of someone you love is the most painful feelings human beings can experience. It means losing love, and love is the highest form of happiness known to mankind. Time to get it back. You could be leading a normal existence again without the worry of depression, binge eating or sleepless nights.

Yes This Relationship Can Be Saved !

Can he/she give you the love passion and joy of a stable loving relationship? Was it really like that? You know more than anyone else if it really was like that. You know that you had a lot going and it was not one-sided. You have the proof. It was NOT a relationship that just fizzled out because both sides felt completely indifferent - well if it was like that, then the relationship cannot be saved. If the answer though is YES, then time to get your ex back. What do you need to do to restore the broken bonds and what you have to do to heal the wounds? Think of all the reasons why he/she is your ex and how you came to arrive at this point. Then start planning your overall strategy because you CAN save the relationship. Think positive !

Strategies To GET YOUR EX BACK

In the link below you will discover a few simple techniques that will get your ex back. They will form part of an overall strategy. You will learn how to get your ex to return your call or test message. You will learn how to look after yourself, how to make a plan and stick to it. There are also some tips on arousing curiosity (rather than resentment) which will help you to get back together again.
In Utter Devastation

Just a few moments ago, my boyfriend and I had just ended a discussion because he needed to go to sleep for the long day ahead of him tomorrow. But I can't sleep right now because the conversation is still playing itself over and over again in my head.

Our first anniversary was just last week and we've had quite a history together. Admittedly, our relationship wasn't the greatest--there were definitely a lot of rough patches, but we had our good times too. We're an incredibly busy couple, juggling school, work, and family.

But lately, for the past month or so, my boyfriend had been complaining that I'm getting clingy. I don't intentionally want to be that, I just felt that with our busy schedules, we could use a little more time together and for about three months prior, we did see each other often. Lately, I've been trying to coordinate times to see him so we make sure we at least have some allotted time to each other. He, however, views it as a chore and is beginning to want to have space and distance himself from me. While I understand this, I also find it really hard not to ask him when the next time I see him will be. And I definitely do try really hard not to ask him because he gets angry and starts to feel suffocated.

Tonight, I decided that I should tell him about my little screw-up in my schedule, that way he knows that I can't see him on the weekend this week. However, we have a little time gap on one weekday and I suggest a short time together. When he says no, I got angry with him. And then he told me he couldn't stand it anymore--that he wanted a break.

And that's when I felt my world crack and stop spinning. I didn't know what a break entailed. I certainly don't want him to leave me because I could never be able to bear the pain of losing him. I love him dearly and he's such an integral part of me. We plunged forward into greater discussion and I told him that I didn't want a break. I didn't tell him the full reason why--the full reason being, that I know the general fate of couples going on a break leads to the end of the relationship, and that I didn't want to lose him. I told him the second half of the full reason. He agreed that we wouldn't go on a break, on the condition of allowing him two weeks of not seeing each other because he wanted space. So I agreed.

We usually say our "I love you"s before we go to sleep. I sensed that it may not be something he wanted to say yet (although, earlier in the conversation, he did answer me that he does love me when I asked him if he truly loves me). He told me that he does care about me but he didn't feel right saying that he loves me just yet. He said he may feel okay about it tomorrow.

I know he's not cheating on me with another girl or anything. He's just not the type and he's never exhibited any of those warning signs. I do trust him a great deal. And I definitely love him. I'm just wondering if it was okay for me to freak out when he asked for a break. Do you guys believe that he really, truly loves me still? Can our relationship be saved after this incident?

Why is it so hard to get over a bad relationship that had awesome sex?

I was in an On and Off relationship for over 2 years. Every time we broke up, my exboyfriend would go online and try to hookup with girls he would meet on different sites (he actuallynever met with them in person but carried out pretty steammy conversations), he would get back with his ex, or he would persue something with one of his "real" friends. I mean pretty messed up stuff. After a few weeks of us being broken up, he would call, visit, and pretended to be the knight in shining armor. I would be hesitant and doubtful, but managed to forgive him. He never changed, things were always the same and he would do exactly the same things. Finally I got tired of it and decided that the only way to break the cycle was to move.
It has been over a year since we broke up, but he has been calling me and telling me how much he has changed in the past year, that he met someone who did to him what he did to me, and how sorry he is for causing me that much pain. I know that he is still up to his same bs, but my feelings kinda start to resurface. However, I have come to realize that my feelings are merely a sexual craving for him, in my book he has been the BEST SEX I have ever had (I think is the only time he and I got along PERFECTLY).
I mean it is pretty messed up, because I may be sleeping with my boyfriend and I am having pretty vivid dreams with the ex, or we are having sex and I am remembering how good the other one was (my boyfriend and I don't really agree in bed and that sucks), or since I have to do some my self, I just think of my ex.
Sorry for rambling on, but I really need to know what to do to get over it.

How to Know When to Break Up

While in a relationship, sometimes your perspective gets skewed, so it can be challenging to know when you're better off ending it instead of waiting or trying to change. By using these steps as a guide, you can better determine when things aren't working and it's time to move on. Since the issue is highly subjective, it's imperative to use your best judgment.

Instructions

Step 1

Leave at the first sign of physical, sexual or emotional abuse. There is no excuse for someone abusing you. If you stay in the relationship to see if it happens again, justifying it was "just this one time," you're already stuck in an abusive mindset. Require more for yourself and end it right away.

Step 2

Determine if the problems and questions you're having now were present in previous relationships. If they were, it's likely that something needs to change within you, not the other person. Discover what you need to change and decide whether you need to be alone to reset your relational patterns.

Step 3

Think about whether the other person is an asset to your life or puts you in deficit from where you would be if you were single. This is an all-encompassing concept, and you should examine many areas before making the decision about where he stands. If he isn't adding to your life, you should break up with him.

Step 4

Break up when you discover that the other person doesn't have the same life goals as you. Things like whether she wants to have children are non-negotiable, and you shouldn't wait around for her to change her mind. There is someone out there you won't have to convince to see things your way or who wants the same things in life that you do. Leave if you feel like you're settling for less.

Should I break up with my boyfriend?

I'm 20, and I've been with my BF for 15 months now. We're both in college, though he is 25 because his family couldn't afford to pay for his education all at once, so he did 3 years, worked for 2 and came back. Last semester he took 21 hours (the max allowed at my school) even though I told him it was a bad idea, and he became extremely withdrawn. He barely left his computer or went to class. He barely talked to me, either. He would tell me to go do stuff with friends but was very bothered when I wasn't around, though he barely had sex with or paid attention me at all. By the end of the semester, I was distraught because I love him so much and it didn't seem he loved me anymore; finding out that he had cheated on an ex of his from one of his girl friends got me so mad that I made us take a break over Christmas break until we could talk to each other face to face. I found out it may have been hasty after I talked to her more and found out the relationship was 6 years ago, and decided to give him another chance when we got back, on the condition that he completely reform his behavior, get tested and get counseling. He has also started working out 5 days a week and joined a club of his own to get out of the house. He has done all this, but a strange trend has popped up; whenever I start to get nervous and babble or pace, he has become more agressive. For instance, once I was talking about how I was nervous since my period was late, and started to pace, instead of being supportive, he got up, pulled me by the back of my pants down onto his bed, clamped his arms around my chest and hissed at me to listen to him. I started crying immediately because it hurt some and terrified me, and he immediately let go and apologized profusely; he knows I come from an abusive background, and made it clear that he was just panicking because I was panicked and was terribly sorry, and got down on his hands and knees to beg forgiveness. (He has never been this way before; the worst was once when we had a big fight 3 months ago and he grabbed my arms a little too hard when he was trying to make a point.) After he made me cry we had a big discussion, and since he had been pointing to marriage lately, I told him I wasn't ready for that, and he told me that he felt that he had done enough "penance" by "being extra good" for last semester and that I was holding a grudge against him. I have forgiven him, but the fact is that it will take more than a month to fix a semester of neglect, and I told him so. He then said he didn't know what he would do without me. I was flabbergasted; he had hinted towards engagement, but I thought it was all in fun because he usually said it just to tease me, and asked him if I hypothetically told him that I wanted to see other people what would happen to him; he said he would never marry and devote himself to work, because his girlfriend directly before me was very emotionally abusive to him ( which is a well confirmed fact through mutual friends), and that he was tired of getting hurt - that he would give up on love and live alone. He also said that he would only ever marry if it was to me, and told me that guys don't absolutely need life outside work to be happy. I was shocked that he would give up on himself so easily. The conversation changed to fixing what we have now, and I'm currently still with him, but I need to know - is he manipulating me to stay? Is this self-esteem issue part of the issue for which he is going to counselling and will be fixed? Could he be telling the truth at all? Is the agression because he's been working out so much & there is too much testosterone? He has never made any of these excuses for himself and is still going to counselling... but I need to know if this is something that can be worked through or if these are big red flags with "RUN NOW!!" all over them. I do love him, and I don't want to leave him when he obviously needs help... but I need to know if this is bad enough to warrant being cold and cutting my losses so he can find someone when he is healthy and I can not have to deal with a potentially abusive relationship. I also want to know if I'm cruel for staying with him when I don't see marriage in our future just yet. I really don't want to have to do this if I don't have to, especially because I hate to betray the trust of others and break both our hearts. Help!

I have been with my guy for two years. I love him very much, and we get along pretty great. I have noticed that because we both have an issue giving each other exactly what we want, we are both not too happy. I tend to get mad at him quite a bit, but because I feel hurt and lonely. He pulls away when I do this. I know I have been in the wrong, I have tried to supplement quality time with quantity time, and this is not we either of us wants. I feel lonely, and I miss compliments instead of insults. I miss feeling love and passion. I know my boyfriend loves me, and he knows I love him -- I just don't know why this is so hard to do. I want him to have a great life and do whatever he wants to do -- I just don't want him to forget about me. I have talked to my boyfriend about this. Sometimes he is compassionate and wants to make it work, other times he says he wants it to magically be fixed, or we break up. Relationships take work, and I am willing to work. I just don't know what I can do to make him see that it's an easily fixable solution. He says he resents me, but I resent him to. We are at a stand still. We don't want to break up, but it's hard to stay together when the other person doesn't want to make the first move at fixing something. I have done it so many times in the past and gotten nothing. I know we both need to change the way we think, and I know we sound like idiots. We hurt each other without even realizing it. I want to break the cycle, but I also want to ensure I get what I need too. I am very happy, have hobbies...but I need some QUALITY time, love making and kissing, and a few kind words. Any advice for someone like me?

...if you need to know, I am 22 he is 20, we live together.

Rob’s thoughts about bicycling in NYC and what he was doing during the time the movie takes place (SPOILERS!)

In his new film, the romantic drama “Remember Me,” Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a rebellious young man in New York City who has had a strained relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan) ever since tragedy separated their family.

Tyler didn’t think anyone could possibly understand what he was going through until the day he met Ally (Emilie de Ravin) through an unusual twist of fate. Love was the last thing on his mind, but as her spirit unexpectedly heals and inspires him, he begins to fall for her. Through their love, he begins to find happiness and meaning in his life. But soon, hidden secrets are revealed, and the circumstances that brought them together slowly threaten to tear them apart.

“Remember Me” is an unforgettable story about the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of living passionately and treasuring every day of one’s life. The film also stars Academy Award winner Chris Cooper (“Adaptation”) and Academy Award nominee Lena Olin (“Chocolat”).

Robert Pattinson talked about his role as executive producer on “Remember Me,” what it was like working with Pierce Brosnan, and his upcoming film “Bel Ami” which he is currently shooting in England. Here’s what he had to say:

Q: What was it like to be an executive producer on this?

RP: I’m glad Nick’s (Nick Osborne) not in the room anywhere. I mean, I can’t really claim to be a proper producer. I only really came on towards the end of the movie. I was always completely on the same page with Allen (Coulter) and Nick about how they wanted to make it, and then I just wanted to make sure, as much as I could help, to protect the process. I consulted and I talked to them and stuff but I don’t want to claim any kind of creative input.

Q: Is that something you’re looking to do to control your career down the line?

RP: Yes. I was never there. Allen and Nick were there right at the nexus along with Will (Fetters) and they really championed the whole script the whole time. But yeah, I’d love to do it. I’d love to be involved in the whole process. Inevitably things become out of your hands so that the more input you can have when you can have input, the better.

Q: Did you learn a lot on this by coming in later on?

RP: Definitely, yeah. Also, at the beginning, when we were doing the rewrites of the script, it’s so nice being able to talk to everyone involved. You just don’t get that. Never. So, it was really great.

Q: This is a story about love and loss. Have you ever felt confused or lost in what you want to do in life and your career? Have you ever lost anyone dear to you or a pet?

RP: [Laughs] Yeah, I mean, to an extent. It’s terrible. I keep talking about my dog all the time. It’s an incredible dog, which I said in this interview the other day, like the dog was the most important part of my life. My family went crazy with me for saying that. But, however ridiculous it may seem to some people, it was one of the defining moments of my life. It was the worst day of my life. I mean, the dog died. I’ve lost a lot of family members as well. Strangely, that’s one of the things. At the same time, I’m talking to people, you know, when they’re talking about acting, they’re like “Picture your dog dying if you want to cry.” I would never do that. It cheapens the memory so much. [Laughs] I don’t know if that really answers the question.

Q: Did you always know what you wanted to do?

RP: No, not really. I still don’t. You try to make every little thing, you try to add something to it. I don’t know. I try to do film projects, I try to choose things which I think I can give something more to or help to elevate it to something.

Q: Allen mentioned that you had to act when you’re surrounded by fans. How do you concentrate and focus on your performance?

RP: It is really just like blanking out. At the beginning, I was having loads of problems with it because it was really crazy when we were filming around Washington Square Park. It was just complete mayhem. There was this moment when one of the security guys saw me getting more and more angry with these paparazzi guys and he just said, “Okay, imagine going over and trying to hit someone and missing in front of 40 cameras,” and that was enough to break my whole thing. It didn’t really bother me afterwards. It’s weird. It’s strange. I did a film where I hardly knew anyone on the crew or anything, because I couldn’t get out of my trailer when we were shooting, especially for the first month. I mean, I didn’t know any of them. It was really odd. But, at the same time, it’s quite a good lesson in life – discipline - because you literally have to do it. At the end of the day, you can’t just say “I’m not doing it until these people go away.” It was way more intense than any of the Twilight films. There’s never even that many people who turn up for that. It was definitely an experience.

Q: Do you think it impacts the performance though? Does it distract you enough to actually detract from your performance?

RP: It makes you a little more self conscious. Yeah, I think there are some bits. If you wanted to really, you know, you can’t experiment with things. In the rehearsal period, you’ve got these people videoing it and so you can’t do silly things to get yourself comfortable. So, it did in a way. I’m doing a thing now where there’s no one around and I feel a million times more comfortable, so it must have had some effect. But, at the same time, there are certain qualities about Tyler, like being a little bit clenched and hiding and suppressing a lot of his emotions, so maybe it helped.

Q: What are you doing now where no one’s around? Are you shooting in Siberia?

RP: [Laughs] It’s in England for one thing which is very different to the States. The hysteria around the Twilight stuff, I mean, it’s growing a little bit, but it’s completely different. But, it’s a period thing so we’re in all these stately homes in the middle of nowhere and people just can’t find the places. Half the crew can’t find the places.

Q: What is the title?

RP: It’s called “Bel Ami.”

Q: How is it playing an American and adopting an American accent and behaviors?

RP: It is really odd how that’s happened. But then again, in the last 5 years, in L.A. you see every single actor who’s going to auditions and stuff, everybody’s Australian or English or something, everyone. I mean, in the last 5 years, I used to be like that. I mean, a guy from England, and you could really use it to your advantage as well. You can’t use it anymore. It’s more of an advantage being an American. [Laughs] But yeah, it’s odd. I grew up watching tons of American films. That’s kind of why I wanted to be an actor from watching Americans. No one’s really influenced me as much, who’s English or from some part of Britain, as American actors [have]. In other words, I feel more comfortable speaking an American accent in films. I think it feels more of a film to me. I feel like I’m kind of pretending when I’m using my own accent.

Q: What was it like working with Pierce Brosnan? You had to keep that tension on the screen. Did that bleed over?

RP: Yeah, I mean, no, we weren’t…there was no tension at all. He’s like the nicest guy. He’s really nice. I had no idea what to expect from him at all. He’s incredibly hard working. There’s not a hint of pretense or anything about him. And also, if I wanted to go rehearse or I wanted to talk about something with Allen, he’d always be willing to come across. He’d cancel things to go and talk about it. Considering we didn’t have that many scenes together as well, he would always come and I’d want to talk about it all the time. So yeah, he was great in that respect.

Q: Did he give you any advice on how to handle being a celebrity?

RP: He did one thing the first night I went out to dinner with him, just before we started shooting. We were in this place. It was an old-fashioned type of French restaurant with all these banker-looking guys. They didn’t recognize me but they recognized him obviously. He’s probably their idol in a lot of ways. He noticed these people looking over and I’m sitting there and getting more and more self-conscious. I need to leave. You know, I didn’t even realize they weren’t looking at me. And he goes up to them and introduces himself to everybody in the restaurant. At first, I was saying “What are you doing? You’re completely insane.” But it worked so well and he talked to them for a minute, and people do not look around afterwards and you can tell they’re going to go home and say “That was such a nice guy.” And there’s nothing weird about it, being in the restaurant with him afterwards. You’re no longer a kind of freak. But he’s got phenomenal confidence and so he can do that type of stuff. If I went up, it would look like I was trying to start a fire or something. [Laughs] “Hey, how ya doin’, huh?” I mean, it would look really stupid.

Q: Do you ask advice from people who have been where you are now? Are there tricks for dealing with all of this?

RP: I think it’s all really simple. From what I’ve seen, you look at how people are judged in the public arena. I think the majority of people who get beaten by it are just the people who are seen all the time, and so the less you’re seen, then you’re alright. As long as you keep attempting to make quality films, then eventually your name stands for something other than just meaningless celebrity. It’s a kind of difficult battle. You’ve got to make the work mean more than your celebrity. I think people like Johnny Depp have done that. He’s not judged at all for his public image. It’s just his work that’s judged. It’s a really, really difficult thing. It’s a lot of discipline and a lot of hiding which you have to get used to.

Q: I liked the relationship between your character and his little sister. How did you develop such a nice chemistry?

RP: I don’t know. She was just really cool. I always liked the idea of having a younger sibling. My family tricked me about 5 years ago that my mom was pregnant and I didn’t realize it was April Fools’ Day. They spent the entire day saying I was going to have a little brother, which I told all my friends it was the best day of my entire life. [Laughs] I carried on for 3 days believing it. It’s weird because now, after working with Ruby (Jerins), I liked it a lot. Whenever I see a part now, like a younger brother or I’m looking at parts where I’ve got a kid, I just love the idea of it. I’m getting like broody. [Laughs] It’s weird. It’s so bizarre. She was great to work with. She’s an amazing actress and a really interesting girl. She was really fantastic.

Q: This took place around September 11th, 2001. Do you remember what you were doing then?

RP: Yeah, I was still at school. I was doing my mock exams and my teacher came in and said “You need to stop doing what you’re doing and everyone needs to go watch.” And the whole school was brought down to watch the television. They were saying your entire generation’s lives are going to be completely different from this point on. And I guess it has been as well and I think will be for maybe the generation after us as well. I mean, it ended up being a massive event in my life.

Q: Was bicycling in Manhattan a fun experience?

RP: Yeah. It was fun. That bike broke every single time I was riding it so I have no idea. It was sort of cheap and I hadn’t ridden a bike for like 5 years before that as well, so I couldn’t really remember how to do it. That was the other thing as well about shooting. That was the one scene where they didn’t have any crowds around. It’s funny. I realize there are ways to sneakily start filming when no one can be around and I wished we’d figured that out in the beginning, because we’d done all the permits and false names and all these things which I shouldn’t probably say. But yeah, it was fun doing it.

Q: What was your favorite scene in this film?

RP: I think the scene where I confront Caroline’s Billy. That was the most fun to do. I mean, a lot of the scenes with Caroline. I really liked working with her, mainly because you don’t have to do anything. You could just look at her. It’s one of the only times I haven’t been self-conscious at all when I’ve been filming. It’s just so easy to do things with her. Whatever she did, I could completely go off of that. She was always leading the scene, so yeah, probably the scenes with her.

Q: Are you looking forward to pursuing music more?

RP: Yeah, I want to do it at the end of the year. All my friends are recording albums now so I’m very annoyed about it. But I can’t do the two things at the same time. I don’t know how people do it. All these people like Jennifer Lopez and they do everything all at once. My mind is in a completely differently place. I don’t even listen to music when I’m working.

Q: Do you have a company or are you thinking of establishing a company because it seems like you can do whatever movie you want?

RP: I want to. Yeah. I want to start a thing which encompasses music and writing as well. But, it’s just time. I don’t think I’ve established myself enough in film and definitely not in music. I haven’t done anything in music. I think you need to have a lot of good will towards you to be able to get one really going. You look at George Clooney’s company. They make great movies which wouldn’t be made otherwise. And Leonardo DiCaprio’s company as well. He’s got great people working there. They all have really good taste and they’ve made a lot of people a lot of money. I think it takes time. I want everything all at once and it’s difficult to think like that, so I’m trying to slow down a little bit.

Q: Are you filming your new movie right now?

RP: Yeah, I’ve done two weeks and I go back on Thursday. That’s why I’m kind of spaced out. [Laughs]

Robert Pattinson Recalls 'Most Stupid Thing' He Did For 'Remember Me' - MTV Interview Part 2

Happy "Remember Me" day, everybody! But before you head to the theater to see Robert Pattinson in his first post-Edward Cullen solo project, be sure to read on for part two of our MTV Radio's interview with him for RPattz's thoughts on the film, the scenes that he found hardest to shoot and the dumbest thing he ever did.
MTV: Your character Tyler has some issues with anger, being tormented and especially his parents. Do you have any kind of new insight into why teenagers rebel like this?
Robert Pattinson: I knew a lot of teens who were troubled, and then you meet their families and you're like, "I don't know what his problem is." The families always seem really nice and supportive, and it's just this unknown. You have this energy, and you don't know where to place it. I think the reason why [Tyler] has a problem with his father and not his mother is that he knows his mother isn't strong enough to take it. If he started attacking her, she'd just break. His father is still a fighter, so he's always going to fight against him.
MTV: The movie seems very realistic in its depiction of NYU students - how much did shooting in New York with real locations help?
Pattinson: I always thought about the apartment. If this is just a typical NYU student's apartment - living in the East Village in this really nice apartment - I always thought that was a bit much. It's like a million-dollar apartment! It did help. Annoyingly, I couldn't spend as much time as I thought I could [researching the role].
MTV: Why not?
Pattinson: Before I went to New York, I thought it'd be really easy; I could hang out there and pick up on a lot of New Yorkers' mannerisms and things. But it ended up being more of a circus than I thought it was going to be.
MTV: Was it harder getting into character with all the craziness surrounding you during the shoot?
Pattinson: Kind of. At the beginning it was. But then, halfway through, I had an epiphany, and then I was fine. It's just a matter of learning how to block things out. At the beginning, it was just driving me insane. Especially with a character that's lost and supposed to be looking for [answers] all the time - and you can't look up, because then all the [paparazzi] shutters accelerate. You can't smile, you can't behave normally. You just have to be more disciplined about it.
MTV: Do you think your "Little Ashes" performance as Salvador Dalí was harmed a bit because people couldn't look at you and not think Edward Cullen?
Pattinson: I think it was. I mean, I shot it before "Twilight," but I think people do judge things differently after the "Twilight"s. But there's nothing you can really do about that. I do take it into account more now than I used to. But during the Dalí thing, when I was doing it, I didn't think anyone was ever going to see it! It's a very different place to be at when you think you're making a movie which no one is ever going to see. I mean, you're not afraid to experiment with things.
MTV: So knowing that you were famous and people would see "Remember Me," do you feel like you were able to give the film your all?
Pattinson: I don't know. I don't really know what my all is. I think I always felt very connected to it, right from the beginning when I read the script.
MTV: A lot of the anger in the film comes from your relationship with your dad, played by Pierce Brosnan. In real life, do you have a good relationship with your father?
Pattinson: My relationship with my dad is the opposite. The part was written as much more controlling, arrogant - and Pierce seems like a nice guy, so he just read the character as not a horrible man; he's not a monster. It completely changes the relationship Tyler has with him. You're looking at a [father] who you know the audience is going to be thinking, "He's all right," which I thought was quite interesting. It's this guy's rebellion against nothing. You're just attacking someone because you know they can be attacked, and he's going to keep standing afterwards. Pierce was great.
MTV: Did you enjoy the fight scenes? Is it very different than acting with words?
Pattinson: Yes, I loved it. It's completely different. I never do stuff like that, so it was quite cathartic.
MTV: Was it daunting doing those scenes with Oscar winner Chris Cooper?
Pattinson: Yeah. I don't know how I'd feel if I had any fighting back to do. I just continually get beaten up by him. [Laughs.] It's hard, especially being strangled. It's difficult to look like what's actually happening. You're doing it [for the camera] as well, so it's like you're being strangled but nothing really happens. You're just standing there, experimenting with myself. I don't really know what the face is like for someone getting strangled.
MTV: Were you hurt in that particular scene? Because it's very convincing.
Pattinson: No, not at all. But I did hurt myself in a scene they cut out, where I flipped out. [In the scene] I walked into a big confrontation and ended up getting completely destroyed by your competitor. I was doing this thing, hitting myself afterwards in a spur-of-the-moment thing, which they cut out of the movie. But I kept hitting myself so hard. I was in so much pain for the rest of the shoot. It was the most stupid thing I've ever done.
Breaking Up is Hard to Do

Earlier this week my boyfriend and I of 3.5 years decided to take a break and evalutate our relationship. He has been saying that he is not 100% sure that I am the one and I finally told him we could not be together. He said he needed this week to gain some clarity as he loves me and is not sure he wants to end the relationship. I am almost postive he is going to come back and tell me he can not give me what I deserve.

Needless to say, I am having a hard time. I am trying very hard to be strong and to look forward and know that there is something better out there. But deep down inside I feel sad, scared and lonely. Does anyone have advice on the best way to handle a break up? I have never felt this way before, had my heart broken, and am looking for some guidance.
