Robert Pattinson Interview
Robert Pattinson ('Edward Cullen') was mobbed by fans at the Los Angeles premiere of Summit Entertainment's Twilight. Hundreds of eager Twilight lovers spent the night on the street in front of the theater hosting the film's LA premiere just for the chance to see Pattinson and the rest of the cast. Pattinson, overwhelmed by the response, did his best to sign as many autographs as possible.

As most of you know, opening in less than 2 weeks is Summit Entertainment’s "Twilight" movie. The film is based on the hugely successful Stephenie Meyers book and it’s the story of Bella and Edward….
In case you’re one of the few that doesn’t know the story, "Twilight" is a modern-day love story between a teenage girl and a vampire.

In conversation, "Twilight" star and sudden mega-heartthrob Robert Pattinson frequently breaks into a giddy, surprised laugh—like he can't believe the silliness of becoming, seemingly overnight, the sort of actor who receives questions about his hair and the love of thousands of screaming girls.
You can't blame him for being a bit overwhelmed.

"Whenever I tried to be funny in auditions, I'd always get, 'He's way too scary. This is supposed to be a funny part and he was terrifying,'" recalls British actor Robert Pattinson, furrow-browed. But though those frightening table reads might have nixed his potential as a rom-com anchor, they served him well for his breakout part: "Twilight's" impossibly perfect, undead heartthrob Edward Cullen.

LOS ANGELES, California—This is the hot young actor that girls are screaming their tonsils out for?
Some reporters couldn’t reconcile Robert Pattinson who looked like he just got out of bed, his hair a thick mess, with the buzz—screaming hysteria, to be more specific—proclaiming him as Hollywood’s new “It Guy.” But when we first interviewed him on the set of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” in the UK several years ago, we knew it was only a matter of time before Robert graduated from small roles like Cedric Diggory to a star-launching gig like “Twilight.” Tall, blessed with patrician good looks, Robert stood out among the “Harry Potter” cast.

The pressure from the ‘Twi-hards’ must be much less now, because they clearly all love you?
Robert Pattinson: “There’s never been any pressure from anywhere I don’t think. Other than right from the very beginning, before the first film came out.
