After a few missed screenings, I finally saw this film in theaters after reading the book. It’s a great adaptation; I did a book to film comparison here.
This film combines a lot of good elements, with a few great ones, to make a splendid little film.

Supporting acting nominees are great because they range from a mind blowing, one or two scene performance (Ruby Dee) to a strong acting presence throughout the whole film (Amy Ryan, Tilda Swinton). This year there is really anyone's game, as there are five fantastic actresses nominated. The nominees are:
Cate Blanchett in I'm Not There
Ruby Dee in American Gangster
Saoirse Ronan in Atonement
Amy Ryan in Gone Baby Gone
Tilda Swinton in Michael Clayton
Prediction
Cate Blanchett.

It's hard to dress for the red carpet when you're so young. You don't want to look like a little girl but you don't want to look like your dressing in your mom's gowns. I think this dress is perfect for Saoirse Ronan who is only 14.

I saw this film the weekend it came out and am still completely enthralled with it. Considering the Oscar’s are next weekend I figured it was about time I write up my review. I think the most important thing to know about this film before seeing it is you need to understand what you are going to see.

You're the stylist. Dress your favorite nominee in both categories to look stunning on the red carpet and hold that coveted little golden man! Keep in mind their past red carpet looks that show off their style.

I saw this one in theaters just after I read the book. It compares pretty well; the book is slightly more convoluted with some more plot twists, but as far as condensing it into two hours, Affleck and Stockard adapted Dennis Lehane’s novel nicely.
Casey Affleck plays Patrick Kenzie, a private investigator that, along with his partner Angie Genarro (Michelle Monaghan), is investigating a missing child case in Boston.
