Sea Ice Ends Year at Same Level as 1979
Michael Asher - January 1, 2009 11:31 AM
Thirty years of sea ice data. The record begins at 1979, the year satellite observations began (Source: Arctic Research Center, University of Illinois)
Rapid growth spurt leaves amount of ice at levels seen 29 years ago.
Thanks to a rapid rebound in recent months, global sea ice levels now equal those seen 29 years ago, when the year 1979 also drew to a close.

I found this on the Press of Atlantic City. My personal comment (sarcastically, of course)..... it must be nice to do all of these unethical, immoral and illegal acts, and then retire with benefits and not face prosecution.

Why did the sea turtle cross the Florida Keys? To go to the doctor.
A loggerhead sea turtle nearly swam to the door step of the Florida Keys Turtle Hospital, the only licensed veterinary facility in the world that solely treats sea turtles.

In what's being called a miracle, a father and his 12-year-old son were rescued at sea after surviving 12 hours – many of them apart from one another – in the riptide- and jellyfish-infested waters off Florida.
Walter Marino – who movingly spoke on the Today show Wednesday with his entire family at his side – and his son Chris went missing Saturday, prompting an extensive Coast Guard search that involved a 47-foot rescue boat, water scooters and helicopters
Chris, who is autistic, was cheered for part of the ordeal by his father's shouting dialogue from the boy's favorite movie, Toy Story, said Walter Marino, 46, of Orlando. But then Chris disappeared, and his father could not help but believe his son was permanently lost.

I decided to buy a bunch of nail polish from OPI recently, and I wanted to share some things with you.
Mind you, the color Green-wich Village from the MOD-ern collection may seem over-the-top! The color reminds me of green bell peppers.

Turtles have taken to the water as have their relatives - terrapins, crocodiles, alligators and sea snakes. Turtles have a hard shell for protection and their legs have evolved into flippers. They only leave the water to breed and lay eggs.
