It was announced today that Men in Trees actress Anne Heche will be replacing Jennifer Jason Leigh to star opposite Ashton Kutcher, in the indie romantic comedy film Spread. As we reported here, Jennifer was allegedly forced to withdraw from the film because she is pregnant with her first child. Spread is about a womanizer, Ashton Kutcher, and the lover he scorns now to be played by Heche.

My travels have inspired me many recipes and this spread is one of them. It resembles the shrimp salads you can find in Norway, although a bit thicker, and it's delicious with Swedish crackers as an appetizer or on a bagel for lunch. It's also just as delicious with smoked salmon or crab meat instead of shrimps.

Chopped Liver Pate Spread
From Ina Garten
2 pounds chicken livers
1 cup rendered chicken fat
2 cups medium-diced yellow onion (2 onions)
1/3 cup Madeira wine
4 extra-large eggs, hard-cooked, peeled, and chunked
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley leaves
2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Pinch cayenne pepper
Drain the livers and saute them in 2 batches in 2 tablespoons of the chicken fat over medium-high heat, turning once, for about 5 minutes, or until just barely pink inside. Don't overcook the livers or they will be dry. Transfer them to a large bowl.In the same pan, saute the onions in 3 tablespoons of the chicken fat over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, or until browned.Add the Madeira and deglaze the pan, scraping the sides, for about 15 seconds.

I took this in northern California with my Canon Rebel XT. I can never resist photographing the ocean. I love the way the waves look on the shore and how the foam spreads across the sand.

What I find interesting about this is both how much has changed AND how much hasn't.

Dear Mr. President:
In this time of mourning and appreciating how very busy you are, I still must write about existing conditions here in East Texas, even if you are too busy to read this, because I feel it is my duty to do so.

This tutorial is for a very dramatic smokey eye that is basically black. It is considered sultry, sexy, and some might refer to it as the “Victoria Secret Model” look.
You will need the following products: a matte black base (Blacktrack fluidline), a matte black powder eyeshadow (Carbon eyeshadow), a matte highlight that’s similar to your skintone (Performance eyeshadow), another matte highlight that’s similar to your skintone, but darker than the one before (Malt eyeshadow), a black eye kohl (Graphblack technakohl, Blacktrack fluidline) and [optionally] a shimmery silver or black eyeshadow if you want a shimmery look (Silver Ring eyeshadow). MAC is what I use, but any cosmetic line you use is fine - using similar colors.
