Last week, I shared a fun tip with you which explained how to use Google as your mobile weatherman.
This week, I just have to tell you about a fabulous site called Simple Weather.
The site is exactly its name - simple basic good ol' fashioned weather.

Whenever I need an instant weather report, I usually refer to my six-day forecast widget which sits nicely on my dashboard. However, whenever I'm planning a trip and need to check the forecast (do I need an umbrella or sunglasses?), I couldn't be bothered changing the default city for my widget, so I usually head on over to a site called Weather Studio.
Similar to Simple Weather, which is also fabulous, Weather Studio provides an easy-to-read weather report for the city you enter.

It's severe weather awareness week here in Mississippi, so I thought I might actually use my degree for a bit and post some safety tips and guides for severe weather. lol Most of it is common sense, but it's an excuse to actually use my degree. :P
I was reminded when the tornado sirens kept going off at my house earlier today - it's 75 degrees, thunderstorms in the area, and they sound off the sirens for a drill:puzzled: I thought there actually was a storm heading our way since I had no clue what was really going on weather wise!

It's officially dress season in San Francisco. The fog has lifted, the sun is out and everyone is gearing up for their long Memorial Day weekend. I'm crossing my fingers that this fair weather sticks and I can enjoy some prime vitamin D absorption this weekend.

----------- Mittens made for cold weather love ------------
LONDON - Smittens, mittens that allow lovers to hold hands
in the cold, are available for purchase online, said the
British woman who designed them. Wendy Fuller said the idea
for the mittens, which feature two regular mittens and an
oversized glove for two hands, came to her while walking
in the cold with her husband, The Daily Telegraph reported.
"We were trying to hold hands through our bulky mittens,
when it dawned on me to create a mitten that was large
enough for both our hands.

Weather Network becomes a pop phenomenon
By Victoria Ahearn - THE CANADIAN PRESS
"If the online fan tributes to the network are anything to go by, Canadians are indeed enraptured with atmospheric conditions.
"On YouTube, fervent viewers have posted hundreds of forecast clips from the national meteorological channel, which has a French counterpart, Montreal-based MeteoMedia, that broadcasts to Quebec and some Maritime provinces.

I live in Chicago, and it is cold as ice here! It has been unusually warm here for the vast majority of the fall and winter, so I can't complain, but I also know that the weather has been topsy turvy all over the U.S. and beyond.

"According to an international team of scientists from the Canadian Center for Climate Modeling and Analysis that has provided the first empirical evidence that humans have indeed been affecting rainfall patterns around various regions of the planet for the past century."
"After analyzing rainfall pattern data going back over 8 decades side-by-side with an array of climate change simulations taking into account two types of anthropogenic emissions — sulfate aerosols and greenhouse gases — they found that human activity caused up to two-thirds of the extra rain observed in northern temperate regions (Canada, Europe, U.S., etc), all of the extra rain in the southern tropics and subtropics and removed close to a third of the rain once seen in the northern tropics and subtropics. "
"The next step for the scientists will be to differentiate the individual contributions of greenhouse gases and aerosols to determine which are exerting the strongest influence on rainfall patterns.
