It's officially dress season in San Francisco. The fog has lifted, the sun is out and everyone is gearing up for their long Memorial Day weekend. I'm crossing my fingers that this fair weather sticks and I can enjoy some prime vitamin D absorption this weekend.

Stone Age humans crossed Sahara in the rain

Wet spells in the Sahara may have opened the door for early human migration. According to new evidence, water-dependent trees and shrubs grew there between 120,000 and 45,000 years ago. This suggests that changes in the weather helped early humans cross the desert on their way out of Africa.

WASHINGTON — The changing global climate will pose profound strategic challenges to the United States in coming decades, raising the prospect of military intervention to deal with the effects of violent storms, drought, mass migration and pandemics, military and intelligence analysts say.
Such climate-induced crises could topple governments, feed terrorist movements or destabilize entire regions, say the analysts, experts at the Pentagon and intelligence agencies who for the first time are taking a serious look at the national security implications of climate change.
Recent war games and intelligence studies conclude that over the next 20 to 30 years, vulnerable regions, particularly sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and South and Southeast Asia, will face the prospect of food shortages, water crises and catastrophic flooding driven by climate change that could demand an American humanitarian relief or military response.

I found this article and thought you all might find it interesting. Especially since "environmentalist" want to tax the hell out of corporations to make them more "earth" friendly, which in return, the cost will be passed down to the consumer, or even worse they will leave America (something we can partly thank the Clintons for) and set up their companies in another country, moving more jobs out of America.
I am very much involved in the environment, but unlike the LIberals I believe in heavy, substantial, evidence and research before jumping on the tax bang wagon.

Dear Diary,
For my birthday this year, my daughter (the dear) purchased a week of personal training at the local health club for me.
Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try. I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Belinda, who identified herself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear.
