I love trying new wine, but sometimes it's intimidating and expensive to pick out a random bottle at the store. One great way to learn about wine is to order interesting varietals while dining out. If you enjoy the wine, make note of the name and label, then look for it at your local wine shop.

At a recent sparkling wine tasting, I was lucky enough to sample the only "green" sparkling wine in the United States. Jeriko's 2005 Brut sparkling wine is a luxurious bubbly made from 100 percent organically grown grapes. A blanc de blanc — white wine derived from white grapes — made in the French Champagne method, this wine is effervescent and light.

At times, Charlize Theron plays it safe on the red carpet, but the 2005 Golden Globe Awards was definitely not one of those times. The Christian Dior strapless gown she wore was awe-inspiring. Two years later, it's still modern and fabulous.

I can't think of a better time than now to present you with De*Nada, an emerging accessories line that gives a whole new meaning to the term cozy chic. It specializes in knits, more specifically beanies, gloves, and amazing roped scarves ($58). Peruvian designer Virginia Blanca Arrisueño started De*Nada — translating to you're welcome in Spanish — in 2005, and yearned to mix modern styles with ethnic touches.

A few weeks ago I waltzed into my local wine shop to see the gracious owner Jason. I was home alone for the week and wanted a delicious and refreshing bottle of white wine to enjoy all by myself. He pulled me aside and gave me this bottle!

Back in 2005, Honda featured a minivan that was made for you and your best friends — furry and non-furry alike. With passenger seating for up to six people, you'd think there would be plenty of room for Fido to ride along without any problems. But Honda thought that having an abundance of room wasn't enough.

It has also been revealed that The Catherine Tate Show should have won a British Comedy Award in 2005, but it is thought Robbie Williams was promised by ITV that Ant and Dec would win to secure his attendance and get him to present the award. Wine snobs all over the country are still fuming over a blind tasting in which Charles Shaw's 2005 Chardonnay was voted the best tasting California Chardonnay by the judges at the California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition. You may have heard this already, but so many people have been asking me about it that I couldn't let it go unnoticed! The shocking results were leaked on June 28th and declared "Two Buck Chuck" - as the wine is affectionately called due to its $1.99 price tag - the highest scoring white wine.
