Whether it be an icy shadow or a dark navy liner, one thing is for sure - blue was cool at last night's VMAs. I love how Bar Refaeli, Stephanie Pratt, and Pink went for frosty versions to bring brightness to their eyes. Rihanna and Ashlee Simpson opted for a more smoky edge, while Christina Aguilera added her own unique (as usual) take on the trend. Do you think you'll be wearing any of these blue-hued looks?

Icons and Idols Party the Night Away at the Chateau

The night didn't end with Kanye's post-VMAs performance as the stars headed out to the after parties. The girls of The Hills posed together at the Paramount Studios bash before Audrina headed to InTouch Weekly's Icons and Idols party at Chateau Marmont. The Veronicas, Leona Lewis and Good Charlotte all hit the stage performing fun sets for the packed room. We were lucky enough to be there and have some great sightings like the girls of 90210, Dave Annable from Brothers and Sisters and even Ryan Phillippe who stayed covert in his favorite hat. Downstairs, Samantha Ronson spun while Lindsay Lohan topped off her very busy weekend - Fashion Week to Toronto to the VMAs - sitting on the booth right next to her girl chatting with friends and looking hot wearing a very revealing halter top.

The Veronica's kicked things off great but it was Leona Lewis who got the crowd excited. In fact, her performance was so hot that Kid Rock had to take off his shirt - we know he loves a woman that actually sings, ha. When Good Charlotte performed their hits, Mischa Barton was front and center in a very flower-child headband and Paris Hilton excitedly cheered Benji on from right next to the stage. Sadly, no Nicole Richie there to hear Joel make lots of jokes to the crowd since she and Harlow were in NYC.

Lindsay Lohan wore a satin House of Holland minidress (not available online) to the 2008 VMAs. This particular dress has an added rocker vibe with zippers both on the bust and on the rear. Talk about spicing things up. She wore purple t-strap sandals and what looks to be a bangle on her right wrist. Other than that, it's all about the dress. Did you notice how much sparkle there was last night at the 2008 MTV VMAs? But shine didn't necessary equal standing out on the red carpet. Two sequined ladies that did wow you were Miley Cyrus in her flapper-inspired dress and Audrina Patridge in her sexy gold number. Lauren Conrad's revealing yet stylish white frock and Bar Refaeli's casual Hurley tank dress and Badgley Mischka statement jewels also appealed to you. You didn't love Nicky Hilton's Opening Ceremony LBD so much, but I always have to back up a girl who takes a risk. Between all of us, the candidates for best dressed at the VMAs has been narrowed down to Miley, Bar, Lauren, Audrina, and Nicky. Who wins your vote?

Britney Spears was greeted with cheers of excitement, which must have boosted her confidence before finally scoring her first VMA. The good luck kept coming as she took home three moonmen last night! Britney was "speechless" but then added, "Oh, my goodness, thank you! I first wanna thank God for blessing me like this. My family ... my two beautiful boys for inspiring me everyday." At the end of the show, Russell called it "the resurrection of Britney Spears" which we couldn't agree with more. You all thought she would win but she wasn't the only one who scored last night - click here for all the 2008 MTV VMA winners!
