Nike may have started out as a sneaker company, but they also make gear that is flattering and fun to wear. This is why we are excited to be offering a $1000 gift card from Nike along with other great prizes in our Get Fit for 2009 giveaway. If I had $1000 to spend on Nike gear, I would definitely invest in a pair of Zoom Sister One+ training shoes. These shoes are so light on your feet, they make strength training feel like a dance.

My other major splurge would be the Monika Club Bag ($160); full of pockets for organizing all your gym gear, the bag even comes with a "dirty clothes" bag to help keep your sweaty duds separate.

The Nike Spring collection is full of color, hot pink and cobalt blue, and long shirts. Yay! No more worrying about showing off more of your backside than you intended. Nike uses their special blend of Dri-Fit fabric, which wicks away sweat without feeling synthetic, in some colorful striped long tanks ($30) - perfect for any workout out. Sticking with the "long" theme, Nike has created a fitted zip hoodie that will cover your bum too.

I would round out my $1000 with some hot pink training shorts for the girlish tomboy look as well as a hot pink Dri-Fit top to keep me cool when I am running hot.

Fab Ad: Calvin Klein Collection Spring '09

For Calvin Klein's Spring '09 Collection campaign, creative director Fabien Baron was all about modern minimalism. The ad, shot by CK alum David Sims, portrays model Anna Selezneva looking quite stark and static wearing highly structured pieces. Anna's robot-like stare and posing is a little intimidating, but I appreciate the abstract concept. However, I wish the campaign had more fluidity. What do you think?

Love it or Hate it: Shakira at 2009 Bambi Awards

Shakira attended the 2009 Bambi Awards in Germany last night showing off her figure in (another) Versace mini dress. The Columbian singer has become quite a fan of the classic design house as she wore one of their yellow frocks at the AMAs and a silver one to the MTV European Music Awards earlier this month. The multi colour mini is from Versace's Spring 2010 collection and was teamed with some killer platforms. What do you think of Shakira's red carpet look?

Collection 2000 Goes Colour Crazy with PPQ

As London Fashion Week draws ever closer, beauty brand Collection 2000 has announced that they're sponsoring the much-anticipated 2009 Spring PPQ show on Sunday 14th September.

The PPQ duo are not only great friends and collaborators with Peaches Geldof but have also caught the eye of style obsessed girls about town Agyness Deyn, Daisy Lowe and Lily Allen. They all made guest appearances alongside Peaches at PPQ's 2008 Autumn/Winter show in February.

The collaboration with Collection 2000 comes as one of the UK's fastest-growing beauty brands gets a makeover. They're unveiling a brand new collection with a focus on trends, fashion-led colours and a fun, irreverent attitude. Collection 2000 has also recently appointed makeup artist Athena Skouvakis as their new creative consultant. Athena will be leading the team of makeup artists at the PPQ show and we're expecting great things.

Amy Moyneaux of PPQ says "Our Spring/Summer 09 show is heavily inspired by paint and layered colours so partnering with a colour confident brand like Collection 2000 for this season is really exciting." She adds "This season is all about developing new boundaries and shapes with colour." Lets hope Athena picks up on the luxe pop chic and inspirational use of colour that's become the hallmark of PPQ's success.

LA Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Lauren Conrad

I'm sure it was a raging afterparty because it looks like our Hills heroine put on a successful Lauren Conrad Collection runway show last night. Her Spring lineup was inspired by the beauty of Spring. OK, that's sort of ambiguous - allow me to elaborate. With her usual flirty silhouettes, Lauren upped the fabrics, detailing and prints for Spring. She showed an array of solid jersey dresses, both cocktail and maxi, but there was plenty beside those usual suspects. I quite fancy the artsy floral and beige-and-white chiffon polka-dot prints. One thing about Lauren is she manages to deliver pieces that are both sexy and girlie. Sexy: The white ruched formfitting dress. Girlie: The ladylike separates.

Accessories were also highlighted adding some Spring flair. I've never been a fan of rosettes - worn here as headbands - but I am a fan of geometric bangles. Lauren came out to warm round of applause in the end, the only way from here is up.

On Our Radar, Victoria Beckham Shows Off Her Dresses: Update

A few months earlier, Victoria Beckham announced that she will be designing a dress collection. Now, we have the pictures to prove it. The debut dresses encompass a style true to her own with a collection of streamlined sheaths and embellished strapless dresses such as the ones seen below.

“The collection was inspired by the femininity and sophistication of the midcentury silhouette,” said Beckham. “I’ve always been drawn to intricate, seam-detailed designs, as their structure enhances the flattering shape of a woman’s silhouette.”

Her 10-style collection incorporates basket-weave cotton, fine gazar, and georgette silks embellished with Indian embroidery and beading. Beckham's dresses range from $600 to $1,400 at wholesale, and will be unveiled via private showings during New York Fashion Week.

It's Here - Nars Spring 2009 Colour Collection!

I'm so excited that one of my favourite brands has just given me a sneaky peek at the 2009 Spring collection - and it was worth the wait! The new, ten-item range from Nars is full of different textures from shimmer to matte to cream. The colours are striking, different and were inspired by a sexy woman. Francois Nars says, "I wanted a big of '70's feeling, somewhere between Guy Bourdin and Chris Von Wangheim's photographs - aggressive, but very sensual and fragile at the same time."

The star products include a bright, pinky-red matte eye shadow, a candy pink lip gloss and an incredible multiple in a bronzer shade. You guessed it, this baby is in a league all of its own. The campaign features model Guinevere van Seenus whom you may remember from the 2005 ads, (buh-bye Lydia Hearst) and was shot by Francois himself. The Spring '09 collection is already online and hit stores in February.

Hungry Heart Blush Duo (£27) is made from finely milled iridescent gold ivory and pink sand powder (one to highlight, one to contour) and is infused with glitter and shimmer. Nars calls it, "jewelry for the face."
Duo Concealer (£22 each) is a palette of two concealers that are available in three different colour combination options based on your skin tone. There's Vanilla/Honey (for fair complexions), Custard/Ginger(for light to medium complexions) and Praline/Toffee (for medium to dark complexions). It's fragrance-free and includes turmeric root extract and a vitamin C derivative to boost brightness and even out the skin without creasing.
Duo Eye Shadows (£23 each) in Egea (a pale, frosty olive and smoky lilac) and Hula Hula (pinky gold and hazelnut with gold glitter) are made from richly pigmented and velvety smooth, shimmery powders.
Single Eye Shadows (£15 each) in Baby Girl (dusty pink with gold flecks), Grenadines (matte garnet) and Night Sun (golden yellow). These shadows are playful and can be worn alone or layered together.
Multiple Duo (£33) in South Beach (shimmery apricot) and Orgasm (need I say more) are finally coming together to create a legendary, sun-kissed creamy blusher/highlighter combination. This is a must-have item!
Multiple Bronzer in Cap Vert (£27) is brand new to it's genre. While the multiple is typically known to highlight, contour and/or be used as a blusher, this one is a creamy, medium-toned bronzer with slightly red undertones - bravo.
Lip Gloss in Sweet Revenge (£17) is a sheer, sweet pink grapefruit, high-shine gloss.
Lipstick in Shrinagar (£17) is a shimmery and sheer metallic purple-pink shade designed to create berry shiny lips.

Estée Lauder Goes Fuchsia For Spring

Now that it's 2009, department stores have pretty much cleared holiday sets off the shelves and are beginning to replace them with Spring goodness. Taking inspiration straight off the runway, cosmetic giant Estée Lauder has just launched its lightheartedly sophisticated palette for Spring. This collection, named Fuchsia Now, features muted, neutral colors with bold shades for an upbeat, feminine look. It mixes lights with brights and cool tones with warm for an unexpected, playful finish.

Oscar de la Renta Spring 2009 Bridal Collection

Wow, Oscar, you really know how to make a girl swoon. Oscar de la Renta's Spring 2009 bridal collection is one of the most well-rounded collections I've seen yet. It really does have a dress for every type of bride. You want an overdramatic gown to match your overdramatic personality? Done. You want to go simple in a delicate short dress? Go for it. You want to channel an over-the-top prairie gal? He has a gown, and hat, for you too!

If I had to take my pick from Oscar's confections, I'd go with this strapless one with the dramatic ruffled hemline. It's simple on top and fun on the bottom - the perfectly balanced bride.
