Rihanna Leads the Way With Amazing Women For Glamour

Rihanna stole the show in her dramatic white dress as she and her fellow honorees took the red carpet at last night's Glamour Women of the Year celebration in NYC. Carnegie Hall was brimming with beautiful ladies from Iman to Maria Shriver and Diane von Furstenberg. Catherine Zeta-Jones stood out in blue and had Michael Douglas by her side for support. Rih was just one of a handful of women who were chosen by the magazine, but all eyes were on her - and most of you are loving the look, just the latest in her fashion metamorphosis!

Padma Lakshmi showed off her growing baby bump while one of the evening's honorees Stella McCartney smiled big with her award up on stage where she also had some trouble with her super short skirt. Amy Poehler and Michelle Obama were two of the magazine's other women of the year, though the First Lady didn't attend the event since she was with her husband President Barack Obama visiting with families at Fort Hood. The night was full of inspirational and important females who spoke and mingled, celebrating each other and Glamour's picks. Rihanna and Stella Join Fellow Women of Year

Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year gathered at Carnegie Hall in New York City yesterday to celebrate each other's successes. Rihanna and Stella McCartney were amongst those honoured, and were joined by Estelle, who performed on stage. Eva and Andie Are Pretty, Good Friends to The Walk of Fame

Eva Longoria and Andie MacDowell posed together yesterday as the two gorgeous faces of L'Oreal Paris, which was celebrating its 100th anniversary and received a friend of the Walk of Fame award in LA. The ladies were joined by relative newcomer to the brand and the villainess from this past season of Weeds, Kate del Castillo. Last week, Eva headed to Capitol Hill for a more political mission and she tackles all her projects with that famous smile on her face. Meanwhile, there's new drama brewing on Desperate Housewives with a plane crash coming up - buzz in on who you wouldn't mind seeing kick the bucket.

Ben Affleck Speaks in Front of a Proud Surprise Guest

Ben Affleck took the stage at the Children Mending Hearts Gala at the House of Blues in LA last night to present the year's humanitarian award to Anderson Cooper. Before handing the mic over to Cooper, Ben spoke about the Congo, a cause close to his heart and about which he wrote for Time magazine this week. When Ben stepped off the stage, he found a special surprise waiting back at his seat - Jennifer Garner snuck in to watch him and give him kisses at the table before ducking out 20 minutes later. The Madden brothers also came out for the good cause as did Marisa Tomei, who has an exciting weekend ahead as an Oscar Nominee.

Catherine O'Hara and Andie MacDowell have signed on for ABC pilots, Zap2it reports: O'Hara will play the mom in Good Behavior from Rob Thomas, while MacDowell's plot is described as a Hamlet-like drama set in the auto industry.
Maggie Gyllenhaal will replace Toni Collette in the Sam Mendes relationship comedy that also stars John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph, Variety writes.
According to ComingSoon, comedian Demetri Martin will be joining Ang Lee's next project, Taking Woodstock.
Billboard writes that The Cure has announced the date of their next album release: September 13, with a new single coming out every month until then, starting on May 13.
Variety reports that iTunes will now offer movies to be purchased and downloaded on the day of DVD release.

On A Day of Highs and Lows, Sundances On

While the afternoon took a noticeably somber turn as the news of Heath Ledger's tragic death spread over snowy Park City, the morning was for celebrating as Oscar nomination news came to Sundance. While a lot of the celebrities left with the end of MLK day weekend, there was still swag to be scored for some of them. I was lucky enough to stop by the Pure & Natural Celebrity Eco-Retreat and Iconix "Gift Giving For A Cause" Suite benefiting Save the Children to see all the goodies the celebrities have been snatching up as souvenirs. I also ducked into the Wireimage portrait studio thanks to our friends over there and while I didn't get any big celebrity sightings, I was right on the trail of so many of them who have stopped through to pose.

Mischa and Audrina were definitely enjoying the goodies while Diddy was more about pimping his vodka than taking home free stuff. Luke Wilson was looking scruffy, but hopefully his movie luck has turned since BuzzSugar had only good things to say about his movie at the festival, Henry Poole is Here. I'm headed home to slightly warmer SF tonight, but there's a lot more Sundance to come!

Eva, Kerry, and Brittany Have a Night of Hope

Last night in LA, fabulous ladies came out for L'Oreal Paris and Harper's Bazaar's A Night of Hope party. Eva looked like a fancy valentine on the red carpet getting all cozy with cute Kerry Washington. Bella wants to know what you think of Brittany Murphy as a brunette, but overall her looks seems a little too severe. Diane Keaton and Jaime Pressley both went with the coat look for the red carpet, marking what was probably the only time ever that these two actresses were even vaguely twinsies. The event was in support of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, something that is close to home for all women. Excellent to see these ones getting glammed up to support a great cause.

Celebs Fly High at Qatar Air Party

Last night Qatar Airlines thew themselves a little party to celebrate their inaugural flight into NYC, and some celebs came out to play. It's a little odd to see Maggie & Peter with Melania & Donald -- maybe they talked babies? Meanwhile, how pretty is Andie MacDowell's daughter? She's a definite looker, just like her mom. The whole event is a little random, but I bet the celebs in attendance will be flying free on Qatar sometime soon!

Beyonce's Secret to Looking Stylish

The stars shined last night at L'Oreal's Legends Gala at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC. Beyonce seems to rarely have a bad day and always manages to look her best from head to toe. And it turns out she has a secret to never having a bad fashion day. Apparently she never leaves home without a full examination by her stylists. She said,

"I am very conscious of how I look and my image and how I am with people. I have a team and we've been working together since I was 15, so every show, every earring, every shade of eye shadow is all something that comes from me and my team. I'm very much a perfectionist, and even before I was a pop star, or celebrity or whatever you want to call whatever I am, I was always that way. Always!"

The Men and the Women Stay Casual at the Spirit Awards

The women at the Independent Spirit Awards looked beautiful but kept things more casual with their shorter dresses for the afternoon event. Anne Hathaway shined in her off-white dress with feminine details as many other actresses showed off their flirty styles. Cameron Diaz rocked the stripes, as did Michelle Williams in her sleeveless dress with pockets. Mary-Kate stood out with her shoulder pads and long sleeves and the award-winning Penelope Cruz - who had a run in with ex Tom Cruise the night before - look perfect in a frilly hemmed brown dress.

Meanwhile, the men ranged from jeans to suits, but still looked handsome as usual. James Franco didn't manage to shave for the event but wore his pinstripes proudly. Aaron Eckhart, Emile Hirsch and Blair Underwood sported the denim look while Mickey Rourke had fun running around the blue carpet chatting with everyone.
