You all weren't loving the first taste of Scarlett Johansson's upcoming album of Tom Waits covers, Anywhere I Lay My Head, but maybe this new video for "Falling Down" will change your mind. It gives us a behind the scenes look at life as Scarlett — getting all made up for photoshoots and events, flying all over, looking gorgeous. Plus, there's a little Lost in Translation feel to it and even a cameo by Salman Rushdie.

The first track from Anywhere I Lay My Head, Scarlett Johansson's album of Tom Waits covers, gave us a pretty good indication of where the album might be headed: thick, fuzzy production, androgynous vocals, and some pretty drastic reinterpretations of Waits' songs. Now, six full tracks from the album are streaming online, and sure enough, they all have a similar vibe.
Those of you who thought the vocals on "Anywhere I Lay My Head" sounded manly will have a field day with "Town With No Cheer," on which Scarlett's voice sounds flat and almost spooky.

It's been a long wait for ScarJo's album of Tom Waits covers, Anywhere I Lay My Head and we still have until May 20 for the full album, but today we can at least hear the title track. Apparently, the album's producer Dave Sitek was "going for a 'cough medicine/Tinkerbell' vibe" on the album, which it actually helps to know when listening to "Anywhere."
The song has a dreamy/hazy thing going on, with lots of synth.

Last night's final episode of Lost In Austen was full to the brim, giving us yet more action and tying up lots of loose ends. The action even moves to the present day, but I'm glad the majority of the finale focuses on the world of Pride and Prejudice.
So the episode begins with Amanda distraught over Darcy's rejection.

Scarlett Johansson wanted to display her Rock 'n' Roll image on the latest cover of Nylon now that she has unleashed her new album Anywhere I Lay My Head. She shows off her best rocker pout, and even talks about how people recognize her without seeing her movies. The starlet may want to be appreciated for more than her pretty face and acting talent, but judging from the album's weak reviews it looks like she might want to stick with what she already knows.

Back in 1983, my mother and step-father took a Southwest Airlines flight from Dallas to Houston. As they boarded, my mom noticed an expectant woman who looked like she was ready to pop. She somehow boarded the plane while in labor and it took off.During the ascent, the woman announced that the baby was on its way.

As you probably know, Scarlett Johansson is releasing an album of Tom Waits covers - Anywhere I Lay My Head. You may not know that David Bowie is contributing backing vocals to it on songs "Falling Down" and "Fannin Street", which I think adds kudos to the record. He said of the album,
"All I contribute are these oo's and ah's on a couple of tracks...
