Recently, after seeing a picture of doe-eyed, pixie-sporting Ginnifer Goodwin, I've had gamines on the brain. Characteristics often associated with gamine women include pixie hairstyles, short, straight-across bangs, bobbed hairstyles, wide eyes, petite features, boyish qualities, and a bit of what you might call a certain je ne sais quoi. Check out some famous gamine stars — from both past and present — right now.

My bookshelves are literally bulging with fashion literature. From street style guides, to history books I am constantly improving my knowledge of the industry. Just when I thought I had my fix of books exploring la mode, Fashionista: A Century of Style Icons by Simone Werle (£16.99) lands in my hands.

I just watched the 1966 Audrey Hepburn and Peter O'Toole film How to Steal a Million, which is chock-full of talking points when it comes to interior design. But the one thing that truly blew me away (aside from the armoire that leads to a secret staircase) was the purple staircase and banister in Hepburn's character's foyer. In contrast to the rest of the reserved, gilded, French furnishings in the Parisian mansion, the purple stair runner is a very bold choice.

I can't get enough of Audrey Tautou's wavy pixie. It has the perfect vintage vibe with a fresh, modern appeal. To duplicate this forever-in-style look, apply a texturizing gel or a curl activating spray to damp hair and let air dry.

With wedding season upon us, brides will have to face the impending question of how to wear their hair on their big day. If you're trying to decide to go classical and upswept. sleek and pulled back, half up or loose and down, what better ways to source ideas then to look at famous movie scenes from years past.

According to a recent poll by Marie ClaireUK, Audrey Hepburn has been voted the most beautiful woman in Hollywood. The quirky, energetic and iconic star beat out Angelina Jolie, Grace Kelly, Keira Knightley, Jennifer Aniston and even Brigit Bardot!
I like the mix between blondes and brunettes in this top twenty list, however, if I had it my way, I'd give the highest ranking to Marilyn Monroe.

Relax: This is just a tiny little rumor and nobody is remaking Breakfast at Tiffany's (yet). But apparently the idea of a remake has been bandied about for a long time now, with the major issue being, of course, who would take on the iconic Audrey Hepburn role, Holly Golightly?
In Variety, Liz Smith claims that "if anybody could be Holly Golightly in the 21st century, it's Anne" Hathaway who, Smith says, "has an unusually alert, charming way about her — elfin, sexy, princessy, without being prissy."

It's almost clichéd to love Audrey Hepburn, but it's almost impossible not to. One of the biggest icons in film history, she's still often cited as one of the world's most beautiful women — even though she didn't always view herself that way. She disliked her crooked teeth, large feet, and flat chest — "I never thought I'd land in pictures with a face like mine," she once said — but those so-called flaws made her even more likeable.

On a rainy day (and in England there are many) I love nothing more than putting on an old, classic movie and cosing up to watch it in a big oversized jumper. One of Bella UK and my favourite movies is Funny Face starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. In the film Hepburn (Jo) faces a make-over as she is chosen as a model for a shoot in Paris alongside Astaire (Dick).

When all else fails, look to a fashion great for inspiration. That's what kateymclean did with her modern-day Audrey creation. What's modern: her razored cut, her sassy peep toe heels.
